One huge advantage that I see over my current use of Serato + Swinsain + Jaikoz is being able to do some potential real library management inside of VDJ. But with that, I am hoping that some level of automation can be achieved,
For instance, I spent a better part of the summer just doing straight FLAC rips of my CD library to process later. So I have a ton of songs that I would like to replace from my old 192-320k rips to these FLAC rips. My hope is that I could create a script or other function that would allow me to select two files, and then sync over specific id3 tags to the new file.
Am I shooting for the starts too much on this, or do it potentially exist?

It can be scripted, yes. The script is quite complex though.
