Is there a way to remove the song titles and the spinning record from the video screen?

Create a custom button with the command 
setting "hidesonginfo"


Or go to the settings and set "hidesonginfo" to "yes"
 
If you mean the video skin itself:

Go to the settings and set "useVideoSkin" to "no"
