Hi, I had that issue a long time, even on Windows 10 and other hardware. Now Windows 11, 8GB RAM, i7 CPU, Acer Apire.
I added a Link to a Video to show.
The behavior of the CPU us normal whhen happening, you can click through windows explorer, and pull new songs on deck, only the sidebar is not reacting.
Doeas anybody had this also and have a tip for me?

Stop using file date, use first seen instead.

You can check the tooltip of the 'Browsing' text to see which folder it may be stuck at
(And yes, sorting by file date can take a long time on big folders, especially external hd, so 'first seen' would be preferred)

Thanks for the first tips, I'll check.
Its a huge DB i think, 160MB about, but dedicated folders ar not that big.
Using a 2. internal HDD 2.5" 5TB
OS is installed on SSD

"First Seen" makes no difference, there are also no "tool tips" when situation appears.
I can reproduce, when I do the first search after starting VDJ it happends directly.

Is it perhaps looking for a network drive that isn't connected? I used to have an issue like this so I just unmapped the network drive and removed all references to files that aren't local on my laptop.
Kinda like a windows explorer thing rather than VDJ... Annoying AF but I just had to live with it.
