I've tried to make this mappable to a 4 deck controller, it might need a padpage writing and a bit of remapping, but this skin should just about be controllable with a 4 deck controller [I have such, & launchpad, & a bank of 16 dials & 2 reloop neons, so more buttons than a button factory]
A legit, legal source of loops, [others are available] soundpacks
And you can rip your own samples from your tunes.
If I've helped you out or you like my plugins, you could buy me a beer.
A buck here and there will keep me in Scooby snacks.
First we have the top options, nothing too fancy there, but there's a "no waves" option to save some space.

Image 2 should mostly explain itself but I get into details in a minute.

Finally the mixer should explain itself.
for the color fx what you see is colorfx for deck 3/4, what you control is all decks
similar for colorfx select, you're picking deck 3/4 behind the scenes if you swap the other decks of this side swap too.

The bypass button area is a space for future development.
Big question, when you press a pad WHEN does it start?
It depends... you press a pad it goes thru a list of decisions,
Is my deck playing?
__ Am I in a loop ?
____When I start playing depends on where I am in loop & loopsize :
____ not in a loop, I start playing on the 1 of a 32 beat cycle
__ My deck is not playing, is any deck playing ?
____ Yes a deck is playing [masterdeck] - do similar loop queries
____ No nothing is playing - play right away
So when does it actually play?
loops upto and including 1 it plays on the new beat
2 loop, it starts playing on the 1 of 2
4 loop, it starts playing on the 1 of 4
8 loop plays on the 1 or the 5 whichever first
16 loop plays on the 1, 5, 9, 13, whichever first
32 loop plays on the 1, 9, 17, 25 whichever first
loop 64 I think it plays only on the 1 of 32
[so awkward saying the 9 of 32, it's 25% point of the loop]
Extra, the LINK button, the link button will delay the "my deck wants to change" message until both decks have something to send.
Only decks a side to each other link, 3&5, 4&6, 7&9, 8&10
When pressing there is no tolerance for pressing late, you might get away with ~50ms late, which is nothing, always aim for pressing early and the mechanism will deal with it.
[unless you're in a 16th loop then it's all on you]
Future,
Hopefully save and load all decks scratchbanks as a profile [8 profile buttons]
Hopefully, drop="" becomes a regular button feature but not holding my breath.
Different things in xf bypass area
dedicated buttons on the main decks for ripping loops

very nice not sure if i'll ever use it but i have so many loops might mess with it
Posté Fri 06 Oct 23 @ 1:01 am
Thanks
I'm going thru it now ripping loops from bigbeat and electro breaks, it's not going to be my main thing but it's something different. Something fun.
I think it's good enough if you did put the time in to make this your main thing it would work out.
I'll do videos of the full process later [ripping loops, building scratchbanks, having a mix]

Do you have many bass lines? 808, Reece.
bass lines is what I'm short of, 100's of amen breaks, plenty of mid synth lines. But good clean bass lines haven't been too easy to find.

3200 in 9 days, wow, free skins just move quicker than free fx I guess.
This hasn't been submitted yet, is subject to change, I'm waiting for something before I submit, but it's slow posting today;
works in progress

red, extra pitch buttons for fun
yellow, loop change markers to hold your hand until you don't need the training wheels any more

now bonus features if you have some of my plugins [sorry mac users]
red, simpleVolume means we can have up faders for decks 3,5,7,9 combined [and 4,6,8,10 for their side] If mac users have a reliable volume vst, AU, thing, let me know I could make accommodations.
yellow, sWingIt, kind of mental running it at full speed but it kind of works, fixed at 2* the dial is the needle position
green, branchFX I had to get this in somewhere, button to turn it on is the "fx" button. The "Pin" button to make a branch
white, save & recall loaded scratch banks
not shown,
updated most of the tooltips
loop size/move buttons will now flash if end/start of loop exceeds the track
shown but not marked, loop buttons, record loop for ripping & save loop all accessible from 1 panel [save will save and open poi editor so you can make the loop automatic]

Nice. Saludo LOCODOG. while you're at it, you might as well consider a 4 Decks. Just an opinion. Congrats for a well thought out SKIN. Very much Appreciated. Gracias.!!!

Thanks
4 decks? how do you mean? like 1 remix set is 4 real decks, 4 remix sets wouldn't really work - well you'd lose the extra control "set as left/right deck" offers [eq, gain etc]
Unless you mean just 1 remix set, that would have easier mixer control but just 4 possibles feels limited.
Working on fx control but it looks bad right now.
Sort of abandons the "hw mappable" idea

Even though I don't like it, don't think it helps, or is even that useful.
But it'll be asked for, I added in split waveforms.
This will be my only free concession to an idea I don't like.

I tried songpos on each remix deck [in loop progress area] but, I don't think it helps any, offers confusion if sample length and loop length don't marry up, and most of all looked bad what with loop highlighting being a hard coded colour.
Really waves & songpos only make sense for usual 1 & 2 mixing, remixing should be prepped to the point you don't need either.

My bad. I thought it was not as complicated, I thought it was as easy as just adding it as like the Phantom skin (photo for sample only) Nevertheless I'll be looking out for the new update, it's looking great. Keep up the good work.!!!

So I went looking at the loop packs I had [downloaded over years] and I had one from musicradar, a load of pretty decent drum fills, I didn't know who they are so I looked them up.
They're legit [so I can share them] and I stumbled onto a few lifetimes worth of free, no nonsense, no sign up, pick click & download sample packs.

I've gone pretty big on making scratchbanks, I should have 8 house-y techno-ish banks to download soon.
I've moved on from my original idea, well first I added in blockwave to contradict what I said earlier. [see it on decks 9 & 4]
Then I tidied up the fx section, added in so load/Save FX bank buttons.
While I making this, as it was taking form I kept thinking there's a decent video skin in here somewhere, maybe this isn't it but I started something and all the panel groups work nice
here's a pic of Cary Grant throwing down to a amen break & a 303 arpeggio

I've just uploaded ~20 banks [they're awaiting Atomix review].
160 loops, it's enough to get even the laziest started, they're pretty generic [if you want exciting make your own]
The skin has hit a development milestone, I was waiting for a pending fx to be released but 20 banks feels like the changes needed for saved banks etc warrant a skin update.

Is there a way for the BPM to do a countdown?

please elaborate, a countdown to what?

Sooo much fun, I just lost 3 hours playing blind.
Everything is 150 bpm [except 1 shots, I'll have to figure something for 1 shots] and not as bang bang bang as the "hard techno" label suggests [even though I'm cranking house tech-house @+20% on A&&B to put a bit of soul back into it]
I'm not going to hear a bad word about vdj's fx, if you think that, you're just not using them right, I had a great time.
loads of sweet synth loops , hat loops
just the painful process of prepping it all now and banking them in a way that makes sense.
I think the skin on site is behind my version, but I'm going to add some stuff this week, dropzones on remix decks seems vital after playing blind, have a further go at the video side of it, maybe floating browser, sort out a couple of annoyances that seemed a good idea at the time,

Update pending, usual couple of weeks wait while the devs review.
Video got some love. [maybe deeper than most would use vdj for video, but I have a use for it]

I'm happy with the fx panels now. Filled a bit of space that didn't look good if you don't have branchfx/tape_mprv.

Couple of little bits added/fixed that I've notice while playing.
Nothing too fancy going on
If you're mac and you know of a free volume VST/AU let me know I can add support for that.
Suppose I should get some practice and put in a recorded performance.
So much fun playing live from full remix playing and dropping iconic basslines/melodies [had a lot of fun making an Adele - skyfall (live jungle cut)], to a bit of A-B mixing with a little bit of remix accompaniment.
Plus just having fun, one gig I played something that I knew was absolutely wrong for the dance floor - a brake, a rewind, start again and grab an intro loop that was perfect to make techno. Yes I had techno fans dancing to a tiny bit of Fantastic Plastic Machine - Allen Ginsberg.

Update is live, thanks to the reviewer :)

A little pic of some things included.
[the little white markers under the remix deck pads are something I use for encoder based selection pad.] not really necessary to be visible via an option, the option is just there to inform you it's there.
Each remix deck has a variable named var pickpad and a number 1-8 makes a visible mark on the skin. If you get into mapping for this skin you should get it.
The reset pitch lengths has some pretty crazy maths behind it, it resets to neutral pitch in time with the music, for a 8 bt reset as the 8th beat plays and the 9th hasn't started yet, the reset just finishes in time.
One cool thing I just managed to sneak in last second before approval is the deck master bandpass filter, quite a bit of work for something so small but pretty cool results from only 2 dials, and can cover a multitude of sins with a quick tweak.
[actually made out of the hpf & lpf effects, getting 3 dials worth of info represented on one dial was pretty challenging ]

There's probably more in this that's different to the previous release that I've forgot as I've been sat on some changes for months so I forget where the old one left off.
Have fun and be careful, if you get into it, hours just vanish, a huge problem for me has been since it's been functional, any skin work and a little follow up testing turned into a hours long play session, the damn thing is addictive.
