.vdjedit files do not work. Well, 95% of the time they just play the original file. Any way to make this feature actually work?

For the ones that don't play (audio and/or video), perhaps the path is not correct anymore ?
Try to open one of those vdjedit files with a Text/XML Editor and see if the paths actually exist.
