external speakers not working.
when i pull the jack plug out of the back of the pc,put it back in,it works for a fraction of a second. other wise....no sound.
the cable is ok,as is the plug.( have tryed other appiances)
friend said it could be dry solder ?????. so ok i thought, i will open the thing up and re solder it....ah no.
found it, but it seems to be a sealed unit of some sort.
there are 2 other jacks on the same bit.
the pc is athlon 1ghz ( time ) t bird
can this unit come out for cleaning/repairing ??
can it come out WITHOUT taking out the whole dam motherboard.
the unit is yellow in colour.
i need these speakers to hear downloaded mp3,s ( i am a dj and i am fucked without these )
ANYBODY WANNA HELP PLEASE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's probably safer to throw in a new soundcard (or a seperate soundcard if you're using an on-board thingie).
For the price they cost, I wouldn't take the risk of causing a shortcircuit somewhere.
Not really helpfull, just some advice.
