Hey guys, first I want to say that i'm very happy to have found this place! For the longest time, i've really wanted to become a producer (and what I mean by producer is to create house/trance/vocal house/dance music from scratch with my own loops and synths) but don't know where to go, what to get or even how to begin. I've used programs such as Acid (briefly) and Ejay (far more) and found that I do have a slight talent for music making (see Myspace.com/CharlieB, play the song "Final Fantasy").
I guess what i'm asking you guys is, please, a run down of what I would actually need, in real equipment and computer equipment, to make another version of "Final Fantasy"....it's more of a trance style, which I very much like....I would like to get started right away!
I live in the United States, so costs in Euros help, but not much...I thank you guys in advance! :)

check out Fruity Loops if you are going to produce music...
or a good tracker program if you are going to use loops and samples....
VDJ is more for LIVE mixing and remixing, but can be used to record stuff you want to use in a production.
