I am looking to buy a maya 44 off the internet, and I am wondering if having digital out does enything?

If you want a digital out you maybe want to consider M-Audio Delta 66. Maya 44 USB don't have digital outs.
Digital Outs are to connect other devices in a digital way. Like Amps (with digital in) or to use another digital features (some DVD players or CD has digital outs). We use analog inputs and outputs much of the time.
