I need to know how to get the djc mapper from popping up everytime I open VDJ. I downloaded the mapper and thought it might be helpful but now it is annoying. How can get rid of it

I don't know, but I want to download the mapper too, where did you find it?
Do you think is usefull or not?

just uncheck dj console in the vdj settings ( there is a little box "enabled" for DJ Console)

If you use the DJC, the mapper will always appear when you start VDJ if you use my mapper. If you don't want to use the mapper anymore, just remove the following file in the main folder of VirtualDJ:
djcmapper.dll
You will get back the djc Mapper included by default in VirtualDJ

I think what Dawgfan is saying is that the mapper can and should run, just not in the foreground.
I too get annoyed by the way its GUI not only pops up in front of VDJ everytime you first start, but if you access multiple programs by using the 'ALT-TAB' sequence, it is always the first one in the list.
It would be nice if it could be a TSR maybe, like the Hercules 'Green Alien' program, so it sits in the bottom right hand side of the screen and can be brought up if and when needed.

If i minimize the dialog box in the taskbar when VDJ start, is it ok for you?

Perhaps you could make the mapper window pop up on demand when a combination of buttons is pressed? This is how the v2.0 DAC-3 mapper will work - You will be able to call up the mapper screen when you need to make a change and then close it once you've finished.

DJCel, starting minimized would be nice, but might be confusing for any new users of the DJC Mapper. Might I suggest that it pops up to the front only when no DJC customization has occurred yet (i.e. first time a user uses the mapper) and if any customization has already occurred, then the mapper starts minimized.
I really think that making it a TSR (Terminate-stay-resident) program is a better choice though so that it would just sit in the task bar until specifically requested, as does the Hercules Console Utility. I don't know how difficult it is to make that change though.
BTW, let me give you a pat on the back for the mapper even as it works presently. It has opened up many new possibilities for me, and has reduced the amount of equipment I use. For example, I no longer keep the 'X-session' in my case because I was only really using it for video crossfade, EQ crossfade, and samples. I now have all of those functions mapped to some of the unused buttons and dials of the HDJC MKII.

Yes Minimizing would be perfect, the Mapper is already excellent.
