This is for those trying to use the Maya 44 USB without wanting to or are not able to use the TCV.
You MUST install the ASIO driver still. Use version 2.5.5 that you can find on Audiotrak's website, not the version 2.5.9 that comes with it, it's a beta.
Once this is installed, go to config in Virtual DJ and choose the advanced configuration picture (third from the bottom just above the Hercules controller picture) and then click the advanced configuration button. Choose the Maya44usb from the drop-down list of sound cards for the left deck. There are 2 for each deck. Then, set left deck for output to 0 and 1. Set right deck for output to 2 and 3. This will make the left deck's output feed channels 1/2 on your Maya 44 and the right deck feed channels 3/4 on it.
NOTE: Using the ASIO driver for Virtual DJ will cause the Maya 44 to not respond correctly to non-asio programs....ie; other popular DJ software. You will need to make the choice and stick to it for your machine and the software you want to use.

The downside of advanced sound config is that video effects will no-longer be synchronised to the audio (Hopefully this will be fixed in VDJ 4.0 or a future version.)
An alternative (Which I use if using the DAC-3 only) is to use the timecode_active shortcut to disable the timecode control. You can then use VDJ and/or an external controller as normal to control playback without TCV or TCCD.
