Sky
I have opened ports in windows firewall and I just have a USB modem.
When I try to broadcast it says "Error" "can't listen on port 8000"
Any ideas what I can do next.

You may have to purchase a modem/router, I am not sure if usb modems can be configured as your requirements.

Can anyone help me , i am trying to broadcast using mk2 console and virtual dj. I try to use Shoutcast at which point i see that a Encoder is required. I don't know what should used in the Encoder section. I am running through a netgear modem router on a broadband connection, i see everyone mentioning port openeing, but i am assuming this is only used for streaming to a server which i do not want to do. Would appreciate some help

i have downloaded the encoder and saved it to the path file you saved it but i can't seem to find it when iam looking in virtual dj folder, and nothing goes into my encoder section
Posté Tue 11 Sep 07 @ 7:15 pm
do you think i need winrar to open the encoder as it comes as a zipped folder
Posté Tue 11 Sep 07 @ 7:18 pm
yes extract that and copy the lame.dll to the virtualdj program folder
Posté Tue 11 Sep 07 @ 7:56 pm
I have put the .dll into virtual dj and that has changed the end of the link to virtual dj.mp3 ,but i still cannot log to the link is there anything i need to be changing on my router and if so does it affect my day to day normal use of the internet ?
