Sujet Long tracks skip -- Try VDJ with with 27mb files

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

I have noted that when I play long tracks (like a megamix or recorded radio program) virtual DJ will tend to skip when I skip through the track using the progress bar!

I tested this with 27mb files

How to reproduce...
Load 27mb track (or larger)
start playing
scratch a little bit
Let it play for 4-6 minutes
click on progress bar to advance into track
do this several times and reposition further in

VDJ will skip the track and repeat it over and over until it finally catches up!

VDJ will skip
VDJ will skip
VDJ will skip
VDJ will skip
VDJ will will finally catch up and continue playing

** It is NOT my system ** this happens on a pentium 4 laptop and an AMD Athlon XP processor desktop

I also changed the max load time to 30mn and Always, that did not help.

I have seen this bug on version 1.09, 2.0 and 2.01

u must change the load time to LESS than 30 mins
And NOT always.. (meaning ALL lenght no matter how long)

try 5 mins, or even turn it off!

why? because VDJ decodes the mp3 to wave in ram by default, and a 27mb mp3 file is A BIG wave file, so u have ram problems, even if your pc is fast (u did not say anything about how much ram u have..)

the reason for max load in setup, is limit how ram to use for pre-loading mp3 for decoding. Loading a
whole radio show into ram can cause skip... :)

hope that helps ;)

Norway is right u didn't say how much ram the song in question is over 20 minutes long that one song alone could be hogging anywhere from 176mb to over 220mb all by itself thats depending on exactly how long it is
another thing u said u tested it with "files" did u load up 2 27mb files on vdj at once
thats probably killed ur ram there
