and

and assign channels on outputs

:)

tried that...still no joy, can i go back to the older version, i mean the one i was using before the upgrade as this has stopped me from mixing completely, everything worked fien before the upgrade now i cannot do anything...what was the upgrade for, how is it supposed to improve VDJ as all i am experiencing are problems?

the update solved and added the following

and has been very sucessful for most :)
sorry to hear of your problems :(

new timecode engine:

retains pitch value when used in one-timecode mode

new features:
new remote control device added
new video transition: scratch, alpha
virtualfolders automatically remove duplicates
new query for plugins (maineffect*, mainsample*)
new action: timecode_mode

bug fixed:
virtualfolders rename/delete/etc refresh fixed
crackles in dual soundcard mode fixed
crash with very long ID3 comment in skin fixed
vdj latency adapts to nearest available latency on weird ASIO soundcards

what config did you use before?

i used... no inputs, headphones, 4.1 soundcard, master/rear - headphones/front, autolatency, this is causing me proper grief now as you can probably imagine.

and that completey doesnt work now :(?

it works only not as it used to, before i could use the herc as an ordinary mixer, for example, having the cross fader to the left / left deck through speakers, cross fader to the right / right deck through speakers and using the headphone chanel selector buttons i was able to cue the opposite deck to the crossfader, now i can still use the crossfader as before but it doesn't cancel out the other track as it keeps coming throught the speakers also i cannot hear anything through my headphones on either deck.
does this explain my problem a bit better now?

yes i understand

il have a think on this one and get back to you asp!

In Settings, Did you change the Output Channels to "Master: output / Headphones/ output"?

And Outputs: to Headphones?

I had the same type of issue with my MK1.. I switched to master out ¾ & headphones ½.
But I again I was using MK1 sound card.. Maybe selecting a different channel for master & headphones will make it work for you..

guys, i'm not using a MKI my mistake, i was confused over the MP3 controller which i have and the MKI and MKII, sorry for any confusion.

Sorry not confused.. Not much difference between the setup of mk1 & 2.

i don't have either the MKI or the MKII though, that is why i thought i had caused you some confusion

IN VIRTUAL DJ :

Main out will be at channel 1 out at your soundcard
Headphone will be at rare out..

In VDJ options, turn AUTO HEADPHONE ON , if you like 3.4 behaviour (auto choose active deck to prelisten)

If you still have issues, you need to ENABLE SURROUND SPEAKERS in WINDOWS speaker settings!
(Windows control pannel >> sound settings)

i'll try this right now, cheers for the help!!!

i am using a soundblaster soundcard, a hercules mp3 controller, no other mixer.
i have noticed that i can still hear track "a" when the cross fader is completely over to the right and the volume is tuned completely down...this confused me so much i decided to uninstall and then reinstall VDJ, after i had done that i still found i had the same problems with the volume and not being able to hear throught the headphones anymore (i have checked using different set of headphones, and switched headphones into master out and they work fine) also after reinstalling the software i now get a warning message telling me "database is corrupt"

can you please help me out here guys as i am getting withdrawal symptoms from mixing!!!
