I have read in this forum that you are aloud to have vitual dj installed on two pcs. Question I have is will I be able to change my license to a future upgrade pc down the line. Let me explain. I currently have a DELL 5100 LAPTOP with 512mb ram and 60gb hardrive running at 5400, the video card is a radeon 7500 which will be to slow for video but should be good enough for audo. I also have recently purchase a desktop pc from hp with enough specs to run video on.
My concern is that I plan on eventually purchase a custom rackmountable rig from DJ rack to replace my laptop. So my question is do I have to wait until I purchase that rig from DJ rack or will I be able to switch my registration from the laptop to the new rig without any conflict?
Ideally I will like to have it install on my HP desktop as well as the new rig from DJ Rack.
Currently I am using the demo and I like what I see so far. I am currently using VDMX and have previously use BPM Studio Pro so I want the next software I buy to hopefully be the last. One of the things I hated about BPM Studio was there lack of customer support. With VDMX I have a contact person whom has been able to walk me through any problems. With Virtual it seems that there is a lot of support via the forum but none available via telephone. Is there a contact in the US that will provide customer support via phone as well as the forum. I really prefer the one to one support instead of having to search the forum on looking it up. I am really not that tech savy. so I need guidance on working through any conflicts that may arise.

Sky, I want to thank you for your quick response and will probally be email in the future if I am stuck on a particular subject. I am well aware that you have already extend youself out to previous users in helping them out. I just prefer a phone contact as a back up.
Thanks again for you help.
So If I purchase Virtual after my evaluation how will I go about upgrade and reinstalling it on the new pc.

you would go to the program files
C:/programfiles/virtualdj/
take
the 3 files
virtualdjdatabase.xml
virtualdjdatabase(yourname).xml
mp3datbase.txt
then paste them onto the new pc with your music :)
then all of your info will be on your new pc :)

When you purchase virtual dj via the website what is version of virtual dj is giving to us. I think I may wan't to eventually purchase but I may want 3.4 instead of the 4.2 for now. Until most of the quirks are work out in the 4.2 version.

there are not any issues in 4.2 which will affect you
but after purchase you can request 3.4 if you have a problem

Simon,
I am still having problem with my dac 3 working properly on my laptop. It works fine on my desktop. Reading the forum I think someone else had the same problem due to irq comflicts with laptops.
However, in regards to license. When you purchase virtual dj pro do you need uninstall the demo version before installing the pro version.
Also any suggestion on getting this conflict with my laptop not working properly on my laptop. I did all the tweaks recommend and still same result. It only connect properly about 1 out of 10 restarts. Sometime it works sometimes it don't.
(like an almond joy) lol
