can you explain the browser area?

yay! something to look forward to!

You can use this section to browse and load tracks, if you have browser track enabled in the config.

Will it have a continous loop at the end of the record? Or will it stop like the 2nd gen?

The end of time code issue has been corrected and will be released in the next version of VDJ.

thanks for the VERY much needed update.

Wait, do I understand this correct, you can use the TCVs to browse your library and cue up songs?

When is the next version of VDJ, for that TCV over-run you mention??

Schmidty,

You can do that right now, in the current version of VDJ if you enable browser track and pass 9mins on the vinyl. In the Gen3's we took the extra step to mark it for you.

You guys know I can't give you exact dates on releases. Just know it will be very soon :)

Awesome, i'll be the first one to order them on the 21st.

any chance of them making it over the pond any time soon?
EDIT:(lovely video by the way)

BTW, will the TCVs look like that? white labels? and is it a thick record, or is it light and easy to scratch? Double sided?
(Sorry for the dumb questions, but I never used TCV before.)

white lable, probs from a limmited prototype run. the pessing is probably final but you can bet they will have Virtual Vinyl and Virtual DJ stickers for them.
what id like to know is if they are planning on releasing normal thick ones AND scratch ones like Rane and Stanton have with SSL and FS

Xeo is exactly correct the white label ones were test pressings. Retail ones will have a red label with the virtual dj logo on them. As far as the thickness is concerned we decided on 120-125g records for the final production runs. We found it to be the best balance between scratching and regular mixing. Yes the records are double sided and have the same program on each side. A lot of work went into the final design we really hope everyone likes them.

One really important feature of the new gen3's is something that really has been overlooked by every other TCV maker is the lead in time. We decided to increase it. Why? Think about how many times a night you drop the needle at 0.0 only to have it fly off the platter. With the gen3's its much easier to dorp the needle and spin. Its just one of the little things we added to make the whole time code experience better.

I must say that i'm more than amped up to see what its gonna be like for my first use of TCV, I had tried serato in a dj store before, and hated every delayed second of it. I'm really interested in this browsing function, I will be starting off with gen 3, since it will be my first TCV purchase ever, My ownly question is how do you select a song that when you browse and find a song?

I would REALLY like to eliminate the need for a mouse and keyboard on my setup, I just want a screen, and my nuo4 and thats it (And my 1200s, duh)

the first groove past 9mins will scroll tracks down, much like the down arrow on yout keyboard once you find a track leave it lit and drop the needle on 0.0 it will load and start playing the track. In order to get rid of the keyboard and mouse you better look into having all your music very very well in order. Make sure your machine will boot without a keyboard too.

You can't type out a search without a keyboard either...

not practical... I would understand putting them to the side and trying NOT to use them as much.

LOL
I use my keyboard and mouse proudly in front of thousands, just like all the other professionals I work with, don't understand people who consider these tools unprofessional, if your confident in your ability then click and type away, very useful tools in a live situation, did you know that DJs used to turn their backs on an audience to sort through their records?

Hi,

have you tried to do an heavy backspin with it? If so does the needle skate on the disk as on ice like with the generation 2? If Gen 3 can do heavy backspin I will buy it!

Thanks

the gen 1s (only ones ive used) were not correctly centred so backspinning was a bit of a no no.

ok so know about their release in the US.............

when are they out in Europe?
