Sujet: NEW ! Hercules DJ Mobile MP3 (Wireless Mixer) - Page: 3

Cette partie de ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes

Well if it works with version 2, then I'm guessing it'll work with a later version, presumably it uses the native Hercules drivers...

Yeah i know it's a piece of tat, but I reckon it could prove quite useful when the smoking ban comes into force this summer... I can sneak off for a crafty cigarette by the fire exit, and with the aid of some wireless headphones and a radio mic, keep the mix going!

Here's a VDJ question for ya though, I've never tried this - can you plug a Hercules controller and a DAC-2 into the same PC at the same time, or would they conflict with each other?

Yaaa.. Another freakin toy

lol amazing console :)

The marketing team must have thought that they would get more ROI on a non professional item. I can't imagine this item being made to look like a toy but with wireless signal can't be be that strong of a signal... There has to be a high level of intetruption. Kinda like those kids microphones that work through the radio signal.

OR

Maybe this is just a prototype and the real thing is going to better made and marketed to the professional.

This thing couldn't have a soundcard or else it wouldn't be wireless. Therefore, you would need a line out of pc to power speakers or amp... So really there is no mixing involved since you can't precue.

Now your left with a fancy IPOD! That's not mobile.

THIS THING IS A "TOY"

Don't call it a toy, toys can potentially sell to children, toys are aimed at a market. This 'thing' doesn't have a market.

True, but if it's VDJ compatible, you could set up a cue channel on a multichannel soundcard (I'm currently only using 6 channels on my 8 channel Gigaport), and send this channel not to a mixer, but directly to a set of wireless headphones. The plan is to route the deck channels and sampler output to my hardware mixer as normal, along with my DAC-2, allowing the use of "proper" equipment for most of the night - a pair of wired headphones connected to the mixer. If I want to go mobile, slip on the wireless headphones, leave the faders on the hardware mixer all up and control everything from the toy. Yeah, I'm making some assumptions here, as I'm still not 100% certain that the supplied software IS vdj or not, but if it is, you gotta admit there's some potential there!

Good thing when you have to go to piss or something :))
I would like to see MK3 console instead of this ;)

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

The software inside is MADE BY HERCULES and there is no any Virtual dj console inside.
I really don't know if this console will be possible configurable via midi to vdj or not.

Yay! It arrived this afternoon! Photos and a full review to follow... ;-)

In the meantime, have a look at the manual that I've uploaded for ya'll, seeing as Hercules are being so secretive about the software!

Hercules Mobile DJ MP3 manual (pdf)

Ok, it's not about to replace Virtual DJ, but it's a lot better than I was expecting, and will make a useful sidekick to my main system when I wanna nip off for a smoke... And yes, it DOES work with multi-channel soundcards, so you can run a preview channel into some wireless headphones...

its virtual dj 1.9 with a fancy skin just so u know lol

Hmmm... just found a MAJOR problem with it though... while it supports headphone previewing, you can only preview tracks in a separate player... there doesn't appear to be a way of cueing up what's actually in deck A or B. Bugger.

can we take a looky at that skin?

Most certainly Mr Moderator... I'll just go grab you a screenshot... ;-)

And a view of the config screen...

GEEE, That info sounds familiar... to the professional, this doesn't sound like a convience. I might bewrong. Now that we have a "GINNEA PIG" I mean inside researcher ; }

Looking at the manual, looks like you have to be next to your computer even to use the library.

DJFORMAT MAKE ME THIS SKIN PLZ!!!

haha NOT!!

GOOD GOD their own support dont give str8 answers they where adiment today it was vdj! GRR

another reason not to buy

@ fatkatzdj - nah you can browse your directories using the onboard screen, and I think you can list stuff by ID3 category as well.... it's basic, but functional at least...

@ niems - well, there's a few skins to choose from...

@ skyfxl - Yeah it's a shame... I don't think anybody's gonna be ditching VDJ for this software - especially with that headphone issue - maybe Hercules will fix that if enough people moan about it! I've got no intention of getting rid of VDJ, I'll be using this on my spare laptop next to my main gig machine...

Now we just need some bright spark to hack the drivers and make it talk MIDI... though I dunno how you'd get the screen to display the browser info...
