I am getting VDJ to split the decks on my laptop using the advanced configuration, but cannot get my maya ex to do the same through an external mixer. What am I doing wrong?

Check in the console that the mix button is not activated. Make sure you have deck 1 output set as 12 and deck 2 set as 34

When you say console, are you referring to the mixer itself or VDJ.

Maya cards generally have there ownvolume control center called the console. On my maya44 there is a button on the console called mix that I think will combined the 1,2 and the 3,4 outputs.

Maya EX does have a separated control panel. it controls the volume sliders of all channels.

if you don't have the maya control panel, you can download it from the manufacturer's website.

(i know this because i also have a Maya EX ... somewere)

Yes, but is not needed .. i installed only once to test,
but i never used it or installed on my laptop.
Use the windows mixer instead, with the wave and master
volumes to max.

but still, are you able to control ALL of the channel sliders using the standard windows-mixer?

i guess not. and that might be your problem
i would check that as weel if i had some problem like this one.

Yes i can... With master and line out, both to the max.
Just the windows mixer.

i meant ALL of the channels seperated. channel1,2,3,4,5,6 individually. not just master and line-out/in

can you do that with the windows-mixer? i think not

You dont need this, (to have control separately)
What you need is to have all channels to the max, and connect to the mixer, right ?
(even with all levels to the max, Maya ex is quieter than most cd players...)
From what i've seen the line out of the windows mixer, affect
only the normal outputs 1+2, and the master slider affects all
(1 to 6). So they are enough...
As for the other post about advanced config, you may have
right, i didn't test it that way, but i'm sure it works well with
the 4.1 + external mixer (it is easier to setup too)

I just bought the Maya 44 USB and I'm Having trouble in the advanced settings. When I assign the Maya outputs to the settings I want and then close the config. window... My turntable stop spinning and won't play. The song will load up but it just won't play. When I go back and reset to the Simple setting then it will play but just out of 2 channels. I'm also going out of the Maya outputs into an external mixer.

Can anybody help me with this problem? I'm using VDJ 2.0. I also would like to use headphone to cue my next song also. The maya 44 is a 8 channel soundcard with headphone amp.

Thanks

you need a full version of VDJ in order to use more than 2 channels.
the 'no licence' version only supports 2 channels.
