Why does a software as VDJ use a lot more memory than other software as Mixxx (Opensource: http://mixxx.sourceforge.net/ )? I know, VDJ has a mutch better synq systhem, more effects, possibilty to use plugins, a better BPM engine, etc. However, is it normal?

For performance reasons, all the mp3's loaded on the decks are uncompressed to WAV in the RAM, so the longer the files, the more RAM VirtualDJ will take. Of course, you can always use the "Max Load" option to limit this... I don't know if "Mixxx" works like this, but this way of operating ensures that VirtualDJ will respond as fast as it can to any modification you ask it to do to the sound.
