so i bought one everythings good so far ...sounds good for a behringer !!(for now). msrp$589.00 ~ GTC $299.00 ...
not bad for ALL the features . have'nt put it fully to the test yet but i used it @ a party last night and it held its ground(sounded danm good!).
ok, now the problem...
you can map the whole mixer ecept the headphones section...
when you map the crossfader , you can no longer assign line faders to it...
so i purchased a midi to usb adapter to connect the mixer to the laptop, the crossfade of the video works once you link the faders
(excellent i must say). how ever i cant seem to cue the next song in the headphones for some reason now thats some weird ish..
i can hear the song playing and when i press pfl(to cue in the headphones ,i get nothing unless i slide the crossfader over. wtf ..i must missed a step somewhere

@ conqest : did you ever getthis mixer figured out I read your post and i see you had the same problems AND the topic was closed.
I tried with no luck (when you dissable mixer as stated ,you can no longer crossfade the audio(with the ddm 4000 (but you can cue ;) ).
I need to be able to do both .

Try this: keep your crossfader linked in the video options.
In OPTIONS tab - Disable the audio crossfader. All this does is turn off your VDJ SOFTWARE crossfader and then you can continue to crossfade with the regular mixer. However your audio fader because it's linked will continue to function make sure it's assigned in midi shortcuts as the VIDEO crossfader. (same shortcut as audio if I remember.)
I can replicate this on my VDJ with a non midi mixer.
Make sure you set it up like this:
EXTERNAL MIXER: 4.1 card, DECK1/DECK2 etc.
OPTIONS: CROSSFADER DISABLED
VIDEO: CROSSFADERS LINKED.
MIDI: VIDEO CROSSFADER ASSIGNED TO THE AUDIO CROSSFADER ON THE MIXER.
One of the midi guys should chime in and tell boogie how to set up a midi shortcut (I never figured it out)

Actually there is a design flaw in the DDM4000.

- THAT is why I originally wasn't able to get sound input (or PFL output) from the opposite side when I crossed the crossover all the way over, I hadn't assigned the lines to the crossfader using the CF ASSIGN button to either A (left side of the crossover) or B (right side of the crossover) as can be clearly seen labeled in the photo.
- So if we can somehow map the CF ASSIGN buttons (either to side A or B of the crossfader), we might be okay.

Hi I am having this problem with previewing the channel that is not playing, also getting some of the cool features built in the headphones unit to respond, has anyone replicated these headphone functions.
The aspects i really want to replicate are listening to the live mix in the headphones but being able to switch to pfl channel for cueing tracks.
Did anyone achieve / overcome this, and if so how?
Many thanks

There is a work around.. but i suggest you go ahead and buy the product as the trial is limited to certain fuctions.

Sure, but before spending any more money i need to be confident that this software will work for me and map to the mixer i have just purchased, can you suggest the workaround so i can assess this in the demo version?
Also I have 1 deck and have just set this up as timecoded, which appears to work well however when i attempt to switch this to control the other deck in VDJ via a shortcut for "timecode active" i cant get the deck to work, interestingly the tc code button for the 1st deck (which works) is in light blue, whereas the second deck's tc code button is in red when i switch to it. Does this signify something? Am i missing a shortcut or is single timecode control not possible when using a maya 44 usb soundcard?
Many thanks

im not sure as i use two decks .. are you able to map the crossfader?
select crossfader for midi on mixer(see manuel)
(use general midi in vdj remote panel.)
delete all shortcuts that point to 21 (21 will be used for the crossfader).
click the add button ..go to mixer in column on the left.. select crossfader ,then slide crossfader on mixer back and forth(this will auto learn).
close all open windows and try it out.
i'll b online for minute ..good luck

Thanks for the help, I overlooked the fact that although the deck was under VC Plf was not clicked, it seems to work ok now although the control ceases after using for a while, if i go in and refresh my asio settings or change to no VC, then VC again this resolves it, you heard of this before?
My main issue is still mapping the DDM4000 mixer - can you advise me of the workaround - i need to know i can map the benefits of the mixer?
I have each deck in vdj rigged to a separate channel, which is great but as a result i cant cue the deck thats not playing in the headphones, big problem, please advise of whether you know of a work round to enable listening to the other deck without bringing it though on the master. My soundcard is set up correctly and i have refreshed and followed any general configuration guidance, the comments on here suggest this is a known issue.

well once you have the cf mapped then you could do what i did and map the button rt over the cf to video cf...
general midi/video/video crossfade (select auto near the bottom rt of screen ) next press the button rt over the cf(or whatever button u choose ) .close all windows and try it ..
when u press the button it should activate/deactivate the crossfader link.(dont know which skin u use (i use vmix 5.3 single(the word link turns green when selected;white when not selected).
it might take a bit to get used to but i showed my partner and after a few times of me tellin him the video not showin he started to remember .hehe
anyways ... play vid on deck one.now to cue deselect the crossfader link (so you can move the fader near the middle to get sound for other deck) BUT be sure to turn down the line on the cue channel before movin the cf.
u should be able to use plf now.
(i know its kinda hard to explain )
good luck ..lemme know if you got it

Hey diggadee, the best thing to do is not to set the mixer crossfader to MIDI. Unless you have big plans for the buttons that go with it, there is no reason to MIDI the crossfader. If you want to crossfade the video by itelf, just asign a knob or a feder you don't need to crossfade VDJ but disable the crossfader in the VDJ otions. Here is config I use:
Channels 1 & 2 in the mixer are MIDI with knobs set to control VDJ channel EQ, the MODE button sets the "lloop in", the P1 buton sets the loop out (auto), the P2 button I use for "Pitch bend down" and the P3 is "Pitch Bend up". If you have pitch bend on your CD players or you are use to do without them, than use them for FX. I use channels 3 & 4 on the mixer to control FX. The MODE button to turn the "key lock" on and off, and the other three buttons for three diferent FX i like. The knobs are all set to FX, but usually only two are needed so you could use one of them to crossfade video. The channel faders on channels 1 & 2 on the mixer control the volume control for each channel in VDJ, and now that I think about it, the faders on channel 3 & 4 are doing nothing.
Audio comes in the respective channels, and I have the audio from my CD players comming in channels 3 & 4, just in case I need to mix a CD which i rarely do now.
The FX section on the Mixer is set to control the sampler and cues on VDJ. (I'm not to crazy about what I can do with it in normal mode)
That is just how it works for me, obviously you should assign the controls in a way they would work for you, but like I said, unless you have big plans for the crossfader buttons on the mixer, there is no need to set it to MIDI.

so if you assign the crossfder to a midi channel can you still do fader starts by using the mixer's crossfader?
so if I'm not misunderstanding you are saying that if the crossfader is in midi mode is loosing it's analog functionality and functions?
