I played my first gig the other night (well, first one infront of total strangers) and all went well.
I was playing with another DJ on his equipment (he only plays vinyl). All I brought was my laptop and MK2. He was using the same turntables as I use at home (Numark TTX's) and needles (Shure M44-7), so I didn't expect much hassle. This setup works fine at home.
We did a soundcheck and realized that the sound came through fine when running VDJ, but when I hit the source button on the MK2 to "turn off" VDJ and let his vinyl pass through, we got a slight "crackle" that seemed to always be there (it was more noticable when the levels on the track playing got louder). I had also brought my needles from home. We tried them and got the same results.
The only thing not consistant with my home setup was that I had to flip the input select switches at the back of the MK2 from either line to phono, or phono to line (didn't look to see which since I was in a hurry, and I'm not home now so I can't see what I'm normally set at). And his turntables were in road cases, so I didn't want to go throught the hassle of pulling them out and flipping the TTX's line/phono switch. But my question is:
Would using either phono or line as input to the MK2 make a difference in regards to the performance/sound of the vinyl pass through?
I'll have to run a test later at home, but you know how the day before Thanksgiving is at work... slow as hell! I was bored and thinking about the issue, so I thought I'd ask the "knowledge base"! lol!
Any ideas?

Well I have the same problem. What I did was make sure the output from the MK2 went into the line inputs to the external mixer. Asuming your usering a external mixer. For some reason it statics and gives you all kinds of distortion.
