Sujet: How to control Virtual DJ using FAST TRACK PRO?

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

Hello there,
i'm just doing research on how to use Fast Track Pro and Virtual DJ together.
i know that fast track pro has only ONE stereo input (either the SPIDIF, or the 2 mono 1/4 inch inputs).
i wanna be able to use a single time coded CD with my CDJ 1000 to control virtual DJ.
For the mixer: i have no problem, i'll either use a midi controler or just send the channels to my mixer, i know how to that, i have already done that)
my problem is that i can't get the time coded CD to work.. i wanted to know if therre is a way to do this at all? or not?
maybe the SPIDIF input will work? can someone please tell me if this is possible or not?

Thanks,

Ramtin.

Hello,

I will take this old post to clarify this,

Well FastTrack Pro haven't enough Inputs to work with timecoding. I see, if you are new into this, you don't know how this works.

For TIMECODEs we need that sound cards are ASIO compatible, why? because in ASIO mode the sound card works directly with the application, and don't pass over Operation System DLLs. In this way we have low latency settings and obtain better response from it.

Now, FastTrack Pro has ONLY 2 inputs that allow you to connect only 1 Stereo device. If we use ASIO, then 1&2 inputs are going to be map for 1&2 OUTs, but VirtualDJ need 3&4 also, so you will get "NOT ENOUGH ASIO CHANNELS available" message.

This is why we tell to all that want TIMECODE use, that it is needed a 4INs-4OUTs sound card (or more, like 8INs-8OUTs, or 12INs-12OUTs, ...) because each VirtualDJ you open will use 4INs-4OUTs at least in ASIO mode for timecode operation.

Fast Track Pro isn't a sound card for timecode use. You can use Echo AudioFire 4, Hercules DJ Trim 4&6, and others similar too.

You can use Fast Track Pro just as a regular soundcard for use with VirtualDJ without timecodes.
