Sujet: Question about controlling crossfader

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

I've searched the forums for an hour. Can the Denon X500 control the software audio crossfader (using HC4500 controller)?

I've seen plenty of mentions about video crossfading with the X500, but I don't know enough about the software to understand if that will work for audio only when no video is present.

Thanks!

X-Control When the DN-HC4500 is combined with Denon’s DN-X500/
DN-X900 mixers, the crossfader of these mixers can actually be mapped
to crossfade your software by one simple 3.5mm stereo mini cable

Didn't check how exactly are they connected, but if MIDI data is
sent then there is no problem assigning it to control software crossfader.

It can indeed, although generally you won't really want to control the audio crossfader anyway, since the audio mixing will be done by the X500 and there is no reason to control the software audio fader.

Thanks all!

I didn't see anything in the product specs to suggest the X500 was actually a midi controller, so I couldn't figure out how it "talked" to VDJ.

It's not a MIDI controller.

The X500 talks through the X-Control to the HC4500, which sends the MIDI data on it's behalf :)
