Hi all,
I currently use a Denon HC4500 with VDJ 5.2.1 (native support, no mapper). When ever I start or restart VDJ, I have to manually assign the effects buttons on the HC4500 to the effects in VDJ. I also have to hit the time button to show remaining time, and the title button to show pitch %. Is there a way that I can save these settings so that I don't have to go through this every time?
Thanks
Eddie

Eddie how are you assigning the buttons. If you are doing it through midi, there is a file that created and saved.

Here is how I assign the effects. All steps are on the HC4500
1) click memo button on HC4500.
2) click effect 1, 2, or 3.
3) turn selector knob desired effect
4) click effect 1, 2, or 3 to save

ok I'm not sure if this is going to work or not, but enable midi, and try mapping those buttons to features you want in VDJ. It's worth a try.

You can assign effects in the HC4500 mapper and they will be saved for the next use.

You will lose working button LED's and LCD displays if you use general MIDI (Although you can map buttons exactly how you want.)

I know you can use general midi and map what ever, but I did not know if can have native support for Denon 4500 and general midi at the same time

Sorry, you can't have native support for HC4500 and General MIDI at the same time. It's either one or the other.
General MIDI allows complete custom mapping, but no output (No LED's or text displays.)
The HC4500 mapper (http://www.virtualdj.com/addons/4558/Denon_DN-HC_4500_Mapper.html) is an alternative to native HC4500 support, offering many more features. Because it is a native .DLL, it fully supports working LED's and displays. You can assign your own effects and they will be saved. Each mapper mode also allows the function buttons to be re-assigned, e.g: Loop lengths of your choice in loop mdoe.
