For regular audio use, it doesnt matter if you use asio (non microsoft drivers) or wdm (microsoft drivers)

If you are to use timecode input (signal) from traditional DJ gear to control VDJ, you need super low latency, which ASIO provides.

Other than that, you migth as well use WDM... less hazzles to get working good in Windows ;)

thanks men.. i appreciate ur explanation.. but i just need one clarification.... if im using the hercules rmx dj console.. which do u advice to use.. wdm or asio.. thanks.

Well, if you are using the edition of VirtualDJ that came with the RMX, then you're be using Asio mode, and I don't think you can change that.

If you are using the Pro version, trail I hope ;) we then have the option to change the mode to WDM. I use WDM with my RMX. I find it's better some users find Asio better. It's down to your setup really.

i was using my tcv vinyl setup and it usually plays on the wdm setup, should i try making it work on the asio setup?

If you're using TCV, I'd suggest using ASIO... The (potential) increase in latency could prove quite useful.

You mean decrease in latency when using ASIO ;)

In short.

ASIO = "I need to scratch"
WDM = "Man I don't need all that wicky wicky stuff"

hi all

how do you use timecodes in wdm mode as everytime i open vdj it auto sest my rmx in to asio mode and i want to stream on the radio using shoutcast i cant get sound can any 1 help out please dont do scratching so not bothered about latency

using a trial version of vdj if that makes any difference?

many thanks
