My first thoughts on a buying a behrnger product were not bringing back good memories of them when I start out. They just never seemed to stand up to any type of continues use. Well after reading other peoples reviews saying that they where surprised but its performance etc. made me give it a shot. I mean I got it shipped for under $315 new with a 30-day return policy and 4 easy payments so I wasn’t loosing out.
The first one that got shipped to me had a loose piece rolling around inside and some other component thumping when it was moved around. After having one for over a week it will be going back. I must say out of the box it was a nice looking piece of equipment but it lacked the weight I would have expected from a mixer like this. It weighed less than a cdj 1000. If you have played on different mixers the controls weren’t too hard to figure out without the manual. Simple menus and knobs. After I mapped it out I had some glitches with a few buttons and features. I worked them out and gave it a turntablists beating for about 3 hours in my studio. Doubles, scratching long mixes the whole package. Worked ok aside from an effect issue or two with the midi but over all worked well. Friday night I take it to my fir day spot and it worked ok for about 45 minutes then I hit the effect button and it just stopped the song no loop out. Later I was using some of the buttons and I noticed when I pressed one to the right of the fader control it stuck down. Also I would set loops and they would just change and reloop. When I noticed this I paid attention and recreated it in the headphones and noticed the button I assigned to loop in was sticking and keeping the loop in lighted which would shorten the loop each cycle through. The xfader, up faders and knobs all performed well but as I found out the buttons don't put up with the use. I wasn't pushing them any harder than they should have been.
Over all I think if you use this in a home setting or maybe even light studio use it you might be ok. If you plan on using it in a club, mobile or live setting I would strongly advise not to buy it. I have been doing this for 13 years and have used and owned tons of dif equipment. I tested this out with an open mind and wasn’t looking at the name on the faceplate when testing. I feel I gave it a good overall test and the second shipped unit didn’t perform, as I need for my type of use.

Sorry to hear that, but afraid I've yet to see rock solid gear from that brand..
Seen some ok-ish stuff, to be fair... but most of all I've seen a lot of really bad stuff...
the Behringer BCD2000 its just a legend at any DJ software community for how bad it works.

Behringer's power amps and powered speakers work well.
Their P.A crossovers and signal processors work well too.
Their sound consoles and DJ mixers......not so much.
Their DJ Headphones are ok - I've had a pair for over 2 years now with no complaint.
Like any other company they make good and bad stuff. The thing about Behringer is that some of the crap is so cheap, like anything else , spend a bit more money and get better stuff.
However Price is NOT directly related to Quality. I've seen plenty of expensive JBL and QSC that sound like shit and is just as unreliable as Behringer.

oh believe me i'm used to spending cash on equipment. i have a trailer full of equipment everything from green lasers to moving head spots. the main reason i gave it a whirl was the return policy and low price with really no major loss. i mean concidering within the last 2 months of doing video i have spent over 3g's on new laptop, controller, software, videos, cables and today's purchase two 20" lcds for pole mounting at smaller parties where my projector would be over kill. last night i rocked with my total control and normal mixer and only had the one problem i mentioned in the other post with windows not respodning but the program itself was rock solid. it happens its not the first peice of equipment i didn't like and i'm sure it won;t be the last.

I use 26" LCD's on my truss when my projector is overkill. Such is life.
I hear ya on the Spending money part. Getting tired of always laying it out.

Sorry to hear about your experience with the DDM4000... I've had one since the beginning of the summer, and I gotta say it's been great so far. The only problem I had with mine was when the headphone socket collapsed into the case. On inspection, it turned out that this was because rather than use the retaining nut on the socket, they'd glued the socket to the back of the faceplate - I remounted it using the retaining nut and it's been fine since.
Had no trouble with faders, knobs or buttons so far, and I use the buttons quite a bit to control MIDI functions in VDJ. I wonder if the faceplate on yours was mounted badly and causing the buttons to stick?
