using? You know, the rca's from the TT or CD's to sound card and rca's from mixer to sound card. What brand, simple red and white or Monster brand? I know sound is a iffy topic but I gotta believe cables have to play a role. Any help is appreciated

Monster has a monster price to go along with the name. I always google searched using the words Premium (fill in the type of cable needed) lifetime warranty. I alwasy got good results from looking for them that way.

Buy the ends and wire on spools and make your own.

I've got a friend that makes up really good RCA cables for me, IMO the best I've ever used.

In my over 20 yrs in retail consumer electronix sales, I will say that yes cables can make a difference. Yet for most apps even the dollar store cables will do the trick in a pinch.

If you're only using short lengths (ie around 0.5m) you won't notice any difference in sound quality. Try doing a blind test - one deck with an expensive cable, one with a cheapie - get somebody to do this for you so you don't know which one's which, and try to guess which is which by the sound alone. I guarantee you'll hear no difference whatsoever!
The only good thing about thicker more expensive cables is that they are less likely to break under the stress of repeated plugging and unplugging.
