Hi, can anyone help me in picking out an inexpensive software. I am a wedding DJ who is looking to update to a laptop and I don't need all that fancy, looping and scratching effets. Just want to make playlists and play the music that's all

I do mostly weddings at this point in my career. VirtualDJ is a rock solid component of my successful buisness. Instant searches, user friendly interfaces, works well for both video and audio. You cannot go wrong using VDJ for any wedding. One of the best features of VDJ is its versatility. VDJ can be used with a great many different control interfaces. If you utilize the scroll textfeature and a second monitor you can show the happy couples names on-screen. Always a hit at weddings....

PCDJ Red is also a good choice, can be used as a basic DJ tool but it has some good features too. I know loads of mobile DJ's using it and they have no problems. VDJ home is a little bit too basic I think. Just be aware that PCDJ as a company are c**p so don't expect too much going forward. BPM Studio Pro is also excellent for mobile work, but a tad expensive and quite old now.
Best to download demo versions and see what you're comfortable with.

Best way to go. That's how I knew I liked Virtual DJ. Now I have the ultimate DJ program.

can't understand why you would want to buy bpm pro at 500 euros without the capabilities of video, than VDJ @ 250 euros and it's got the lot, but you probably worked that one out anyway....

ALWAYS do the cheapest thing you can do for your clients because after all there IS NO COMPETITION FOR WEDDING business so just cheap out use windows media player or winamp
they probably don't want anything really good for there friends , family and other guests , this is why everyone is still in there pajamas and they just get a big order at Taco Bell drive thru for the food

VDJ is definitely the way to go.
I don't use as much of the features as quite a lot of the
others on this site do. Mainly I just play music, occasioanlly
some karaoke. Use it for Weddings, birthday parties, block
parties etc.

Virtual DJ Pro all the way. I do a lot of weddings, school dances, birthday parties, etc. It has all the tool you need and if you don't want all the buttons to show up then just change the skin to basic.
