Is anyone else having issues playing what are supposably DRM Free videos.

When i load them into VDJ they load - audio plays but no video - is this a codec issue do we know?

It's a Virtual DJ codec issue. If you have access to a Windows machine you can use my iTunes+ Video tool in the downloads section.

Had a feeling that was the case - i have bootcamp on my mac so will give it a look or get my windows laptop out if needs be.

Thanks

BTW Andrew that little tool is a great time saver. Good work!

That thing is great, but test all your videos before playing live. I have a few that couldnt be converted with the tool.
To play the Itunes natively in VDJ you need to install the KLite codec pack, be very careful and make sure you are setting it to Windows Media Player on install. Also in VDJ you need to make a codec for M4V and set it to WMP Video decoder.
From there further tweaks may be needed ie. In KLite you may need to disable the Haali splitter, etc. I am runnin about 100 I tunes vids that I have converted using an outside source that has converted them to .mpg.

Anyone needing more help just let me or Andrew know.

His tool is by far the easiest to use, remember to double check that the files work and dont have a green line running down the center.

I will tell you 1 of the vids I cant convert properly and that is Trace Adkins - Swing. Try it for yourself and you will see what I am talking about.

In I tunes you must make sure you do a Power search for Itunes Plus vids.

I tried to use the tool to convert an itunes vid but it wont play. any ideas?

You need to make sure that the original videos are iTunes+ files and not regular iTunes.

If they are not then they will be DRM encoded and you will need to use a different program to remove the DRM. Something like Tunebite will do this for you.

The tool works great and really fast for DRM free files (iTunes+)

where can i get tunebite

When in I Tunes always make sure you do a Power Search, once you click on Power Search select Music Video in the drop down, then put a check in the box for I Tunes Plus and you will then see the DRM free vids.

nice tip discobrian

p.s send other your skin ideas mate - will start to give it some thought.

thanks for ur guys help

oh ya whats the deal with drm anyways?

DRM is the protection iTunes used when releasing music.

They recently announced they were doing away with it and selling music DRM free.
