I just bought a DMC2 and C3USB mixer. I am running mac osx. When I go into config and set up the outputs it only recognizes the "built in audio" and another usb audio codec sound card. The computer sees 2 sound cards but gives them the same exact name, so inside of virtual dj it only recognizes the 1 sound card, not 2. Is there a way I can rename the sound card so that I can label them USB AUDIO 1 and USB AUDIO 2? I only bought this mixer so I could avoid buying a DJIO, now I wish I just got the damn I/O and saved my money and time. Help me!!! Both decks are only playing out of USB A not both A and B!!! how do you guys have yours set up? Also any guys with C2USB's please chime in. Thanks

I have the same problem with both an XP and a vista machine....Dev team, does the C3 work with VDJ or is there some driver we need? Numark says it is plug-and play and if there are any problems to contact the software company, so we are contacting you any answers?
Don't know about the C2, but I also use a CM200USB and it works perfect plug and play right out of the box!

Okay, got it working. Delete any USB drivers in windows device manager. Plugged in the "A" deck usb cable, then the "B" deck usb cable then went into windows control panel and in the "sound" section selected the "USB Soundcard" as the defalut, then USB Soundcard (2) showed up and everything worked fine after that.

mixcds4u - you are going to need to upgrade to the pro version of VDJ in order to get output to external mixer. Once you upgrade you'll see the option for 'external mixer' and selecting that gives you two assignable USB audio channels you can send out to your C3USB. I have the same mixer. Works great!

Just bought the C3USB and I'm having the same problem as mixcds4u. Using both USB cables I plug them into my MBP and they are both recognized (looking through Audio Midi Devices) but given the same name. So when I open VDJ (pro version 6.0.4) I select the following:
Inputs: None
Outputs: External Mixer
Sound Card: 2 Cards
Here lies the issue...I can only select "USB Audio CODEC" for both decks. The Numark manual states that one USB output should be named "USB Audio CODEC" and the second "USB Audio CODEC 2" however there is only one listed. Therefore VDJ is only outputs to channel 4 of the mixer which is "USB Audio CODEC".
Like mixcds4u ask, do we need to somehow rename the output through Audio Midi Devices or something? How do we get VDJ to recognize there are two USB cables plugged in so we can tell it to output deck 1 to USB 1 and deck 2 to USB 2?
Your help is appreciated!

Am I missing something...even if I were to get both USB channels divided between 4 and 5...how do I use the fader between the two? The fader can only be assigned to channels 1-4?

The USB channels are tied to channels 3 and 4 on the Mixer ... look at the toggle switches.

I am glad that I am not the only 1 having problems with my C3USB, but at the same time I wish there was a fix!
I can get the 2 seperate outputs in windows without a problem, but on my Mac it only see 1 usb sound card, not the 2 separate cards.

The LE version (once updated to 5.2.1) already allows an external mixer to be used.. purchase of the "Pro" version is not necessary.
(though its recommended as 6.x allows customized mapping of the DMC2)

Have you contacted Numark Tech support?
If the C3USB is not showing up as two sound cards, then their is nothing Atomix can do..
Have you tried doing a search in the forums? I remember someone else having this issue long time ago, but somehow it got resolved..
make sure if you find the "work around" you post it here, so we can add it to the Wiki! :-)

I am sure I have contacted numark right after I purchased the unit in march 09 but that went no where, I am going to give them another shout today and post back my findings.
I do have 1 work around that I use if I am running under osx...
I use the one sound card that is is detected on deck a, and deck b I use the system output (headphone jack) and using a 3.5mm to rca adapter to the C3USB. That way I can use the crossfader on the mixer and use it kind of how it should work out of the box. Just have to adjust your channel gains.
Oh yeah guys I just upgraded to Pro!! Woo Hoo, plug-in/effect downloads here I come!! lol

Has anyone found a solution to this problem? I have the same issue. I just migrated to Mac OSX and it recognizes both external sound cards, but assigns the same name. Unfortunately, it appears that VDJ generates its list of available sound cards using unique names, instead of listing them all. Perhaps the developers need to append a number to the end of the list entries if there are multiple entries of the same sound card type.
This isn't a problem in the x386 world, since the windows device manager already identifies numerical associations to multiple devices of the same type.
I think it would be a lot easier for the VDJ developers to provide a fix to this than trying to get the Mac developers to do it...

Create a ticket for VDJ customer support, so at least they have a record of the problem..
As far as I know their are no updates on this issue. (but I don't own a mac, so i'm not in the 'loop' per se)

The free home version does not support multichannel sound cards.

You will need to purchase either VirtualDJ Basic or the full Professional to use separate deck outputs to an external DJ audio mixer.
Please see: http://www.virtualdj.com/products/comparison.html
(NOTE: The full Pro is required if you wish to use MIDI controllers, timecode, full-screen video, etc.)
