Sujet: Wanting to buy a Mac - Advise needed

Hello all,

I've pretty much made up my mind to replace my desktop, which is pretty old now, with a Mac.

As times are hard, I think I will need to get something second hand off ebay or gumtree etc. I really don't know much about Mac's and my question is what sort of minimum spec should I be looking for? I obviously want to run VDJ with my RMX and also FL Studio for production.

I note the Herc website quotes mimum spec as 1.5GHz CPU or higher / 512MB RAM but what realistically what sort of spec should I be aiming for?

i really cant help you much cause i dont ever buy second hand computers cause you never know what the issue is.... i suggest looking at the lowest end macbook and see if you can afford it. I use nothing but macs but dont just buy a mac if you cannot afford an upto date one.

I'm looking to replace my desktop so would like to buy a mac desktop not a macbook... I have my second VDJ installation on a laptop which I use for playing out with and this is fine. The desktop is for messing around with at home.

Looking at prices online I think I may need to go secondhand so would appreciate any advise on minimum specs to run the Software i mentioned above...
 
i would like more info on intent. cause honestly a imac may be better than the mac desktops
