Looking to setup a new console with the following conditions:
1. two Midi Pro CD Players
2. Midi Mixer
3. Also how to configure hardware/software esp. getting the audio/video sync
I presently resdie in Jamaica hence we are not privy to go into a local store, purchase item(s), go home, try to see if ones requirement(s) are met, if not return :(
I solely depend on feedbacks via the internet primarily virtualdj.com to make incisive decisions for purchasing items therefore I cant afford to spend money in order to find out if this satifies my need.
Also note that I'm a Video Joc which makes my setup a bit more complexed.
All sugesstions are quite welcome guys, so throw them on me PLEASE.
THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

well...it's deffinantly a good budget, although i dont know about two midi cd players.....all that comes to mind is the pioneer 400's.. http://www.pioneerprodj.com/dj-equipment/cd/cdj-400.asp
..but 2 will kill your budget....
maby one of those with an nuo 4 http://www.eclerdjdivision.com/productCont.php?ap=2&sub=1&id=3&lang= ....
i think that should be enough....but not sure of the prices and what usd means as far as funds.... when you midi those cd players, they have a way to act as both decks on your pc...so you dont realy need 2....
my 2 cents....good luck

well, if your looking for "cd" player's...then you'll need an audio mixer, and you mentioned midi, so what i'm saying is...that mixer does both, midi and audio.....1500 usd probably wont do it for those 2...i'm assuming though...didn't check the price...but check ebay.
. if you want to play video with those cd player/midi controler...then you need one that does both....there's also the denon 3700...i heard that was awesome and i'm pretty sure there cheaper...
in the software...you can map a button to switch decks on your software ...so the one controller/cd player can do both decks..so in a sense, you could be playing a cd thru your audio input of the mixer and also use the other deck on your software at the same time, not sure though but in concept it will work......it's surprisingly easy to get use to it though( a one deck set up).... so you might want to think about that...it's not your usual 2 deck set up but it will do the same job, and with midi you can pretty much do anything you want.
hope this helps but definitely go for the denon 3700..... i'm almost sure it's cheaper and it has a motorized platter, for cut's ...

the real question is if you need to play cd's.... if not...then there's way cheaper options out there.... and do you scratch or just mix...cause then i'll say just get midi controller's....they'll do the same... maby 2 d3's and the new 3m from stanton... another option... not the same feel though...but it will control vv well i'm sure for video...

Hi Streaming DJ,
Do you definately need to play CDs as well as being a midi controller? There are LOADS of controllers out there, but not many that play CDs as well. All the ones that do are pretty expensive as well.
If you only need CDs as a backup, you could buy a cheap CD player and then have most of your budget on midi gear. If you need to play CDs alot though, then you need the pioneer CDJ400 or Denon whatever it was that was mentioned.

It's not imperative for me to play CD's, only if you are @ a gig and someone wants to perform live, and brings their instrumental otherwise dont really need that functionality. I was thinking of purchasing the Ns7 but I hate to have everything under one umbrella meaning if the unit starts to have issues, then you are back to square one.
I just need a solid tested and proven midi players and also the setup to have audio/video seamlessly.

I would say get something from Numark like a Total Control. It is all in one plus you will need a soundcard like the Numark DJ i/o. I would suggest the Omni or Stealth but they are not currently supported by VDJ. As far as playing a cd, you can just pop it in your cd/dvd drive in your pc/mac. After that purchase you are left with over $1G to spend. If you do mobile work, get some decent powered speakers and you are set.

then your mostlikely talking about the ns7...looks to be realy good ,sturdy and a nice size...but unfortunatly the platers arent surported in cue(vv) yet... but i think with there next release it should be..... so if you can wait....you should get that.... i'm hoping it will be soon as i'm waiting to buy it for video too....
and for cd's...you can just use your drive in your computer as your cd player... plays any type ( dvd,cd, etc..), just access it from the browser in vv...
there's lots of small options as far as controler's go... the vestax look to be the sturdiest.... numark has some decent one's out now...but very small and portable...
