If you have been using VDJ for quite some time (according to one of your other threads) it is obviously a cracked version as the trial only lasts for 28 days. Although the company line is to support NLU's in the hope they buy the product which is fair enough, please don't come on here criticizing elements of the program or suggesting enhancements to something that is not being supported by the purchase of a licence.

well for a start i share a friends reg code so i cant sign it up as my own,
second im not criticising it. there are aspects of a lot of things people dont like. do you like to wear pink shirts with blue polker dots???? probably not, and why?? because you dont like them. and if you do then thats your tough luck.
anyway back to the point you have no manners, it is certainly more polite for an un registered user to criticise an icon than what it is to criticise a non reg user just because they express their opinion on "AN ICON".
@kradcliffe
thanks for the sensable reply that was less demeaning :) i will eventually get round to buying my own liscence but as i also stated in one of my other posts im just a bedroom Dj and do the odd party here and there. nothing major. i simply use just the software and have no hardware yet, i dont really plan to do clubs and events untill i get a lot better. i want to discover every element of VDj i can before purchasing my own liscence. and every bit of support i get from the guys in the forum and the guys from the developement team is 100% greatly appreciated. "always will be".
@marksmolinski
yeah it is true that it looks like a 2 min jobby, but i just like it. plus it stands out more on my desktop background than the others. so it makes me like it that little bit more. the turntable icon im currently using is a really nice one. you might like it heres the link.

My neighbour has a Ferrari F430, I just take it for a couple of spins round the block when he's on holiday without asking him. I suppose that's OK then .........
Please have a read of the EULA ...... whether you are a bedroom mixer or not it is still illegal use of the program.

- install and use the Software on a second computer, if this computer is normally used by the same person and the Software will not be used on both computers at the same time.
- make back-up copies of the Software for archival purposes.
This license does NOT allow you to:
- rent, lease, sell, lend, distribute, publish, bundle or sublicense the Software or any part of it.
- rent, lease, sell, lend or distribute hardware on which the Software is installed, unless specifically authorised by Atomix.
- electronically transfer the Software from one computer to another or over a network.

- modify the Software or create derivative works based upon the Software.
That's what the 20 day trial version is for.

Changing the icon is easy, and not illegal according to the Eula.
Changing icons is a legal feature built into Windows..
Just right-click the VDJ shortcut icon at the desktop, and choose "change icon" , then browse to the ICO file you want you use (choose iconfiles as filetype) :)
It needs to be a SHORTCUT icon to VDJ (at desktop or other place) and not the EXE file itself (the EXE file icon can NOT be changed legaly)
this one is nice

i contemplated that one also, but i always have just a plain black desktop so it doesnt stand out as well as i would like. hence why i would like the gray one i linked up there ^^^^^. if i could decide on a different background then i would keep the turntable one as i like that the most and use it now. it just dont look quite right.
ah well im sure i will find one eventually, if not it looks like im making one.

yes i understand that but i really dont seewhy that should give a guy the right to be awekward about it. i came here for help not abuse. if i wanted abuse i would call my wife a slut.
it was stated that
Although the company line is to support NLU's in the hope they buy the product which is fair enough.
which is well and good and very much appreciated that i do get "some" help with my problems. but if a cant express my opinion on a tiny thing like an icon without getting slated, then is there actually any point of support being offered in hope of a purchase. i have always planned to purchase my own liscence, but serioulsy, if this is the kind of attitude and forum responce that is offered to none liscence users then it makes me want my own liscence less.
every forum i have been on and become a member of that i find to be very usefull , friendly adn helpfull no matter how insane my requests or how unliscenced i was or am, has always attracted me to donate or buy. as it would anyone. but a cold responce and an arrogant reception into a comunity is wrong in my eyes. i do understand peoples points of view on unliscenced software but there is very very few people around who own an internet connection that use nuliscences things.
does every liscenced member here have exclusive copyrights to use every song they play. i think not. buying a new record in a shop and playing it in a club without liscence is illegal too.
anyway im ranting again
