Sujet: HELP.....Software stopped recognizing BPM during gig....

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

This Saturday I had a gig. All of a sudden, the software stopped recognizing/analyzing the BPM. This made the software unable to sync properly. I was able to get through it because I know how to match the beats without this feature BUT IF PAID FOR THE SOFTWARE I EXPECT THE FEATURES TO WORK. At the time, I needed to take a bathroom break so I was going to use the Automix feature. I HELD IT (bathroom break - lol) because I was too afraid that the songs would not match correctly. Can anyone tell me the problem or possible solution? I did notice that it took me awhile to get my time code signal to get in sync as I was setting up.

Any assistance will be APPRECIATED.

Quick Question:
When you say it "stopped analyzing the BPM",
do you mean you were playing songs that VDJ had not seen before?
VDJ will only "analyze" the song once on its own, and that is when it loaded into the player with no BPM present..

It stopped analyzing ALL THE SONGS on my hard drive. I have used this same hard drive over the last couple of months (since I have VV). Please assist.

Are you using an external drive? Is it possible that the drive changed name? I had a problem once where I connected a camera card reader before connecting external drive. The reader took the E drive letter first and when I plugged the external drive in it got given H letter which was not where VDJ database knew it to be. All the bpm's were blank but when I changed the drive letter back to what it was all was good (whew).

If that has happened, remove the other external devices, right click on my computer icon, select manage / storage / disk management / right click on your drive and select change drive letter and paths.

Sometimes having a custom skin can lose some BPM's no one has explained why to me. I sometimes have alot of lost scanned files using the v-mix skin so I just cant use that skin anymore. I've never had a crash or unscanned files using the current VDJ version and default skin.

OK, first step (1):
is to copy a sampling of songs to your internal hardrive, using VDJ.. (select/highlight about 10 songs, right click on one and then choose the option to copy them to another location.. A good place would be "My Music" in your "my documents"

(this does two things, it eliminates any weird issues with the ext hard drive, and also checks to make sure that VDJ can actually access those songs..)

(2):
exit out of VDJ and remove the the external hardrive.
(3): restart VDJ, goto My documents:My Music::
can you see the 10 songs? Can you play them?

He said he was still able to play the music just the files became unscanned. That probably means somethings gone wrong with the VDJ database or where the database thinks the files should be

agreed, and if he follows the above steps I listed, the results will show if that is the actual problem or not (external hardrive problem, or a problem with VDJ itself)
