Ok guys and Girls this is the naughties after all :D.
I was looking at purchasing a Hercules RMX. But after some worrying comments i may have to look else where.
But i want to use VDJ! I really am loving the software.
So am looking at the Traktor Vesatx VCI 100. But would this work with the VDJ Software?
Or what else is there on the market that you guys are using and can find no fault with.
Also in my other post it was reported that the Soundcard in the RMX is poor. So am i as well buying the Rmx and coupling it upto something like the UD46J?
Or Buy the Hercules Steel and coupling it upto the UD46J as i wont be using the Soundcard in the Rmx
Again some feedback would be great
Thanks Chris.
Ps i need something portable so the Denon rack mount is out sadly.

Yes the vci-100 will work! I use it and also made my own mapper so I could have it do exactly what I wanted it to. With the VDJ Pro you can customize your own mapper so if it does something you don't like you can change it to fit your exact needs. I'm using it on on a pool party gig at the moment.

Cool dude Cheers. Have you compared it to the RMX? Wat sound card are you running with it?

chris it would have been better to have carried this on in your other posting as there on the same subject, something to consider for the future, or maybes a mod can combine the two together or not...

Not really the other one didn't have that great a title to be honest!
Plus in that one i was only asking for advice on the Rmx!
This one is better titled and hopefully when the forum is a bit busier will get a broader response.
I'm more than happy to copy an paste from the other thread and have it deleted. But i don't think a 2nd thread will hurt :D

I think you could have continued your quest in that other thread ... I will lock it and you can continue it here ...
Other thread -> https://virtualdj.com/forums/109351/x/
*Please, do not make threads that cover the same general area of a topic you have already started ...
Your basic topic premise is that you need something portable ... ideal would be a controller with built in soundcard, but the 2 separate would be fine as well.
And I would not judge the RMX on 1 post ... I have used it and have no problems.

I'm not ruling it out just tryin to get as many pieces of the puzzle together that i can before i outlay cash! I've looked for reviews on the Rmx on other forums and many different sites. Ryt now i have the Djio so i'm thinking i'll get the RMx and if i don't like it i'll run the sound thru my IO.
Again just tryin to get as many idea's as i can
Thanks for lockin the other thread and sorry for any inconvience caused

My son uses the RMX at gigs and has never had a problem. I have a friend who has been a pro DJ for over 30 years he does tons of gigs such as weddings, Bar Mitzvahs, corporate events etc and he only uses the RMX and he has never reported any problems with his rig. Different people, different opinions. That goes for any controller.

No I have not compared to Rmx. I saw my remixer friend (remixes major artists) use the VCI 100 with traktor. He loved it. I knew it would work with VDJ so I splurged for it and haven't looked back.
I already had a soundcard so I didn't need a controller with a built in card. The soundcard I use is the M-Audio Connectiv. This gives me the ability to use time code cds (was using before I purchased a controller) whenever I want or if space is an issue at the venue. I especially use the time code cds for travel gigs when flying is involved only because I haven't figured out a safe way to transport on a plane the Vestax VCI-100. Locally its in a travel box but I like not having to check luggage on a flight.

Ok cool thanks for the feedback guys! Despite the one or two bad comments about the RMX on my other post. I've trawled the net and looked at loads of reviews about the RMX and other bits of kit. I must admit i really do like the look of it and i can go down my local retailer and push it and pull it before purchasing it. So think i'll run with it for now :D.
Thanks Chris

best of luck, just remember it is only a mid range controller, but it is still effective also i haven't had any problems with it crashing on me either.
