any my boggis mapper for my hc4500 isnt working

Sorry, the HC4500 mapper is not compatible with VDJ 6 yet. As you can probably see, there have been major changes to the way controllers work.

The mapper needs to be rewritten from scratch - Work that's currently in progress, but with the new VDJscript in VDJ v6, mapper plugins may be redundant for most users now anyway - You can map the controller exactly as YOU want without needing programming skills.

If you would still like to use the HC4500 mapper, you will need to continue to use VDJ v5.2.1 until an updated version can be finished, tested and released.

How do Numark VV users get it? Technically I have a working key but not a link. :(

Where are the instructions for the Mac ver 6 to map my Denon DN-S1200?

It's already mapped - Simply make sure it's in PC mode (SOURCE then choose PC with the knob.) Then start VDJ 6 and it will be automatically detected. Alternatively, if VDJ is already running, go to CONFIG -> Mappers and click on the button to the right of the controller selection drop-down. Choose 'Rescan for new devices'

ill most likely use vdj5 until a few bigs in the mac version is fixed... would you happen to know how i could make the scratch run smoother?

let's begin the tests:
1) where is "skip_beat" shortcut for midi controller ?
2) to try "seek" shortcut by midi controller, it has a bad answer.
3) effect active doesn't work with midi controller.
4) effect select doesn't work with midi controller.
5) where is effect_select_multi to choose more than one effect by midi controller ?
6) when you select two or more songs, "info files->download covers" doesn't work.

Anyhow, this version is very good and I like VDJscript.

where is the manual? im having problems setting up my tcv with my vv soundcard and my mixvibes soundcard on my mac

The manual is always in the same place:

C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR NAME\Documents\VirtualDJ

and how it can be demonstrated over and over again, people don't know where is that.

on a mac

The Mac manual isn't there. I presume because the Mac version is a Beta.

I would suspect the the manual will be uploaded to the Wiki very soon.

have any1 figured out how to get vdj to read your sound card and tcv on mac

im kinda upset that i dont have my updated virtual folders, its using some virtual folders i had like a month ago..

Thanks for the info, I was going to ask about your mapper but I'm happy with 5.2.1 until V6 is supported. I will just test V6 on my home PC for now.

Cheers - Keith

VirtualDJ6 makes its own databases, with v.6 in the XML name.

So all v.5 databases are left intact...

Try this
1) Delete all V6 database (NOT v5, only v6), on root of EACH drive, and in My Documents/VirtualDJ

2) Make sure ALL your usual music drives are connected

3) Start VirtualDJ 6, and let it run for a little time, to convert the v5 databae to v6 format

Should fix it ;)

VirtualDJ 6 doesn't use the same database files as VirtualDJ 5.
It creates a new file called "VirutalDJ Database v6.xml", and import your datas from "VirtualDJ Database v5.xml".
Check if your v6 and v5 database are differents

(the only difference should be that v6 xml is encoded using UTF-8 while v5 was encoded using ISO-8859-1)

looks good and seems to be a bit more responsive. have they changed the way the cue skip works on the vynil (moving 1 groove section in used to move it a cue forward or back)
im sure they will be plenty of people asking plenty of questions. looks good and so far is playing good 2

So what is the "long list of small improvements and bug fixes"? I want to to download the trial version so I can possibly buy this, but I guess I have to wait. Did this version add frame/stutter cueing so that you don't have to cue like a record? Are there any improvements to the playlist and automixing?

Thanks.

v6 looks great! Fantastic from the quick play I've had with it so far.

I'm intrigued by the netsearch thing. So far, messing with my home computer I've managed to download 3 music videos right into virtual dj using netsearch. I don't quite understand where they've come from though! It doesn't tell you the name of the website they come from, and obviously I haven't paid for them, so I assume it's not exactly legal!? but then I can't use them in any other program, so maybe that's got something to do with it.

Everything seems to be working really smoothly so far. Thanks to the dev team! :-)

Any word on whether the "many small bug fixes" included some of the database problems such as loss of bpm data and loss of virtual folders at random times from 5.2.1?

just curious?
just asking?

It should be now better with the new database supporting Unicode
