Ok, ok now I'm really getting perturbed here listening to all of this great stuff about the new version. When I bought my gear at the Guitar Center I was told that CUE was the same thing as VDJ and updates, plug-ins etc were available to all users.
Cue is not identical to VDJ - it is supplied by Numark, not Atomix. There have been minor differences in the versions in the past sometimes.

The price is the same as VDJ as are the features etc. This is really, really upsetting. I would have never bought this if I’d known were would be treated as second rate users. I paid a first rate price, now I have to pay $50 more to be 1st rate? Then I will have paid almost $400 US!! Ouch!! I feel like there is some dishonest info floating around about CUE & VDJ and I was deceived, big time!!
In all honesty a bit of research and you would have seen Numark updates aren't released at the same time. Stupid question, but if the price is the same, why not buy from the source? A box isn't that important to me personally ;) You might also want to take a look at the recent PCDJ VJ situation on their US forums for possible problems when buying a rebranded product - due to issues VJ is no longer being sold or updated. The $50 is for you to change to what is effectively a different vendors product.

Sour apples?! Yes, but how is this my fault!! I tout this software all over the internet ad nauseam, I am a member of Pioneer Pro DJ forums, Serato, Numark, Pro DJ Forums, Mobile Beat and Promo Only and I always push VDJ (tastefully, respectfully and professionally, of course). I know I have converted many. I get “thank you” emails & PMs from people all of the time for helping them with equipment and software problems and questions regarding VDJ/CUE. This IS great software and I love the people here, probably the kindest group of all of the websites, so you’ll understand why I’m just a little upset? It’s not right. Not at all, but I’m glad you guys are enjoying the new version, I can’t wait to get mine.
See my comments above. I can understand you being upset, but to rant to Atomix and the VDJ community about this situation is wrong. Here is the crux of the situation:
You bought a Numark product and as such Numark certify the updates for it. You need to speak/complain/whinge to them as Atomix do not decide when or if they will release an update.
Again, I understand you being upset so don't take this as a personal rant :-p

Scott

@DJRudeDogg - Sorry that the whole CUE - VDJ thing is giving you the flux. That's the problem when you have two different brands of the same product, things don't always sync up like they should.
@CSToll - Switch to Basic Interpolation, still get the same issue. Only happens in ASIO mode, could be my driver for the Tascam. Will let you know if it happens with my Gigaport when I gig tomorrow. Audio on the videos sound GREAT. I primarily do VOBS so I really notice the difference at home.

If it was our decision, we would have released CUE 6 at the same time as VDJ 6.
Unfortunately it's not our decision to take.

cool, that is why I suggested it ... because with ASIO drivers on some cards, I have noticed that setting making a difference if the latency for the card is set to a real low value ...

@CSToll - Any idea why my 5.1 videos have no sound anymore?

I don't know guys, but if it was me...and I could crossgrade for $50, it would be an easy decision to make.
I have never quite understood why people bought Cue or VJ knowing full well it was a Atomix product.

There does seem to be some misinformation perpetuated by some users; I saw on the VJ and SL forums that some VJ users think it's an improved version of VDJ with extra features and a better sound engine...

not trying to hijack the post o nothing..but how do i activate my RMX in the new version....i am lost...lol
Posté Sun 31 May 09 @ 6:37 pm
Yes Cstoll, I have some 5.1 encoded VOBs that used to play, but won't play sound any longer.
Posté Sun 31 May 09 @ 6:37 pm
I'm not mad at all at Atomix, like I said I love the product and the people. I didn't know there was a difference. When I bought my equipment I told the salesman that I was going to buy VDJ and he said "no need to buy it online, we have it right here, box and all". I Didn't know there was a difference until now.
Oh, well.
Thanks anyway!!

If anyone has played with the Denon HS500 could you post your results:
A) Does the spinning platter work properly?
B) Is there the option to use two decks natively and the option to still use 1 controller for both decks?
Have to work all night, can't check it out until tomorrow.
Also,
Can you keep the old version installed by installing the new one into a different directory?
Thanks,

WOW! Another great creation. Thanks for the update.
Need help with the following:
1) Importing 5.2 database
2) Importing keyboard Shortcuts or how to back them up if they need to be re-done
3) Using Dac 3 mapper capabilities.
I'll keep playing.

1. - Why ? It converts the database by 'copying' the v5 file in order to add the Unicode support
2. Keyboard shortcuts from v5 are automatically converted at install
3. What do you want to know ? Go to the Config -> Mapper tab and select the DAC-3 then scroll through each item and read what is assigned to the buttons .. it should be pretty close to the labels on the DAC
