Sujet: nVidia glitch fix

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

I used the registry editor to implement the nVidia glitch fix. I've had problems on many laptops with nVidia cards but i'm pleased that the fix works and my video/audio doesn't jump on a transition now! :)

What i'd like to know is what changes does the fix make to fix the problem?

hello everyone. I DJ for medium to large various functions, indoor and out. I do not run turntables, never had a need to in my sort of functions. I run VDJ and also use American Audio dual CD decks. I've been doing it a while, and just bought this new computer tower

Windows Vista Home Premium

Service pack 1

HP s3650f
AMD Phenom 935e quad-core processor 2.0 ghz
RAM 4.00 Gig
64 bit operating system
Sound Card (1 card): Realtek High Definition Audio

This combined with proper AMP, Numark DM 1200 Mixer and Crate speakers, Im satisfied. Everything was working perfectly with VDj when one day I noticed that suddenly, I too had ASIO drivers and had no clue where it came from, so I removed it. I still receive sound just fine with one exception. When I load an MP3 into left deck of VDJ, it works flawlessly. When I load an MP3 into the right deck of VDJ, when I hit play, there is a slight half a second squelch sound and then the song plays flawlessly and with good sound quality.

I confess I run more than one DJ software on my system because of this glitch and my need to fullfill my contracts with my customers. But Im not happy with the other software at all. PCDJ red and PCDJ Dex. I'd drop them both if I could get that glitch to go away. Right now, in VDJ, my sound configurations are

Inputs: None
Outputs: Single
Sound: Simple (cause if I switch to simple low-latency I get no sound)
Sound Card: Speakers: Realtek High Definition Audio

To this point, before the glitch, I had no need to listen to cue a song ahead of time or need a second sound card and VDJ allows me to make perfect live mixes which has always been nice. Why do you think I might have suddenly developed a glitch. At low volumes around the house, you dont notice it, but high volumes outside or in a hall, its like a half a second blip of the song right before the song plays and then its gone. This does not happen when using other software, but I dont want the other software cause it stinks :)

Thanks for any help you might offer

is my problem related or song like this fix your speaking about?

No, this is only to do with video and not really to do with the post. You would be better off starting a new thread for the problem as normally these problems are not simple yes or no answers and rely on systamatically working through different ways to cure the problem. Good luck getting it sorted though.

I'm still very curious as to why the nVidia fix hasn't been built into the software. What other effect is it having on performance etc that it shouldn't be turned on all the time? Anyone???

Gary

Gary, i think it changes how the software address the graphics system.
Not all nVidia had video freeze, so i see why its a good idea to have the fix there, but turn it off by default.

like if it was ok before, and applying the fix then makes the other NV cards freeze video, then it would cause twice as many topics of frustration.

I did have a problem card, but i sold it to a NLU :)

i have seen this before. what did you change in the registry tool to fix it? when you say freezes what do you mean? between transitions, or effects? i have an nvidia card and I only notice slight freeze when doing a big backspin or sometimes during the transition the vid freezes for a split second. is that what it fixed?

For me it fixed the jump during transitions on automix. My video used to freeze and the sound would pause for a split second.

mine does that too i just switch it to safe mode when automixing at weddings etc. what setting did you changes in the registry too? i opened it up and was lost. theres no documentation telling you what each thing does. l

meant registry tool*

download the registry tool. Open it. Check the box that says nvidiaglitchfix. Thats all you have to do

ah that makes sense.

ok well why does this option show up when i use it for vdj but when i try to use it for cue it does not have the option for the nvidia fix? any ideas why?

Maybe because it only works on version 6 of VDJ and version 6 of cue hasn't been released yet?

does it work with vdj 5.1 or only vdj 6 with the registry tool?

only 6 and later

thats wankerville! sucks cause cue has better tc response for me right now so i haven't switch over for gigs yet.
