Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

if i were to buy vdj 6.01 ,could i do a custom install like not install netsearch, kareokee and all the fancy effects and so on.
i use cue 5.21 and it works perfectly on 4 out of 5 of my gig machines. problem is after over 2 years
i still don't use any of that stuff. i think i could have more sucsess with a barebones version of
the program without juggling all the bells and whistles. i use the computer search to find songs
havent had a problem as of yet. any thoughts?. anybody? been lovin the program for over 2 years.

Hi. As far as I know Virtual DJ does not give you any choice in what is installed Netsearch & Karaoke are installed wheather you like it or not. If you don't want to use a particular feature Ie the Netsearch, for this to work it requires a username and password. I myself do not use the Karaoke function either. If you click on view_options you can take Karaoke out by unticking it. Maybe someone who knows more about the program can give you some more information.

If you don't need all the bells and whistles then don't use them and your CPU won't be strained.

I did a gig last night and the thought came up that I had not used a single effect, nada...
Primarily becuase I was busy with people, but also thinking who here would care or notice.
It would be different if I was a club dj isolated in my booth high above the termites and was able to focus and concentrate without interuptions.

The foundation is there for all kinds of use and different builds have been considered.
It is what vdj is all about, a multi media, multi use platform.
If we changed that, it wouldn't be vdj anymore.

The idle functions have no bearing on your cpu, and nobody knows except you these features are there.
Just because YOU don't use these functions, doesn't mean we should create a different version or remove them.
Satisfying the masses is not an easy thing to do btw.

Offering the v6 skin options to be a video jockey, a scratch dj or simple dj, gives the look and feel that distinguishes each just right imo.

Now run along and click config/browser and uncheck netsearch and it goes away.
Giving you that option shows just how well vdj conforms to you the user.

And pleeeeease stop complaining, a lot of work went into v6.

you're probably right but it sounds too easy. it's gotta be more complicated than that. when you open the program all that stuff
loads and is ready to go at a click of a button. i'm just an operator of the program, i can't wrap my mind around the
inner workings of it. just thinking out loud.i'm starting another video rig in august, and so far i have allways had some sort of
problems with my latest laptop. it's the only vista machine i have.all the rest are xp. i'm still tweeking it?
''not complaining''
