Hey gang, a client asked me for "Calypso" & "Carribbean" music during dinner at her wedding. The ONE type of music we don't have-lol Can't find a Calypso or Steel drum CD's anywhere. Anybody know of where to procure said style of music b4 this Saturday short of hiring the band I met while on vacation-lol
Thanks!
Thanks!

Now you may want to go back to your client and ask them to be a bit more ...I don't know, what's the word? Oh yeah, SPECIFIC!!!! lol
Just saying "Carribean music" is rather ambiguous since the Carribean area is HUGE and diverse.
Also check with Digitalwiz on the Jamaican Reggae Music Group here on VDJ, he's very knowledgeable on this subject, far more than I. Here is the link...

Ask the clients .. what they really need...
what age group are you catering for
how long have they been away from the islands.. etc.
Who are some of the artistes they want to hear..and some of the specific songs.. needed

when it comes to Calypso music you will need to check out ITUNES. Also remember Calypso and Soca is not the same but similar. Soca is faster, Calypso is more for older folks .
Look for
The Mighty Sparrow
Lord Kithcner
Byron Lee
Black Stalin
