He shouldn't be separated from his music, why? What you know is speculation at best or 2nd hand at the worst and he's guilty in the court of "Public Opinion". He wasn't convicted of anything, what's next you going to compare it to O.J getting away with murder?
The hating has already started and his body is barely cold, wow...
He is the KING OF POPULAR MUSIC, not much you can do about that is there?
I am afraid that once you are portrayed as an icon you open yourself up to public scrutiny, although i liked some of his music please don't try and state that the $18million payed out to the family was because they just wanted money. as the old saying goes, No smoke without fire.

And just HOW many people have been proven NOT GUILTY through DNA Testing ??? Quite a FEW, I rest my case. You are innocent UNTIL proven guilty in a court of LAW however you maybe be able to get out of an impossible situation - See OJ Simpson
Just because the law doesn't run how you want it too, doesn't automatically make a person is guilty...
If this is the best you can come up with for dead pop star considering the Black Eye both the United States and United Kingdom have AROUND THE WORLD you are focusing on the wrong thing.

Please calm down think what you saying before coming back with basically a load of nonsense (Black Eye) whats that all about, what you forget is money talks he had enough to side swipe the Jordi family if all was Kosher, to pay $18 mil certainley would put the spotlight on anyone.
Any way Enough we will agree to disagree.

Many of you mentioned he was "singer" but maybe they overlooked that he actually composed most of the hits he sung.
Therefore for me he IS a good artist.
Not every hitmaker has a luck to bevisiblefirhis work as MJ had. Many of them stay in the background for the sight of ordinary people and just see the singer.

Obviously some folks have issues and some grudges to bear. And in a court of law the guy was found to be innocent of charges against him, period. Some of you folks are like old women over the garden fence.
For a pro former to have such a hit list and following before and after the case indicates how popular this guy was. It amazes me how some of you judge, jury and executioners consider the guy guilty and yet your hyprocritical in playing his music, why? Other singers have been found guilty and rightfully any decent DJ in the UK will not play any song connected to them.
Jackson is a legend and the test of time will decide, however I suppose the vultures are already waiting in the wings to further scandalise his reputation judging by some comments on these pages its already started with in the DJ profession of which is an embarrassment.
MJ R.I.P

Let me chime in here as some one who knew his family(mostly on moms side) I never knew him personaly but I can remember jermane comming over playing with me and his cousins I was 6yrs old at the time. I remember his cousins, aunt everyone talking about how his new record "off the wall" was going to make him one of the biggest performers of the time. It was his Thriller album @ the time I was in 4th grade that I wanted to be a DJ!!!! Yes so in some ways it was MJ that got me started..lol Playing that album for ny class on the old record player..
Anyways TO ME he was one of the greatest performer / Artist of all time!! Yeah his personal life was a discrace!! but rememebring some one like him and his music all I can say "you were the best!!" and if not for you there would be no "Britney Spears Justin Timbelake Usher and the list goes on and on......
RIP MJ.....
NOT DEFENDING HIS PERSONAL Life!!!! last night on CNN news I herd one of his former advisors / Mgrs asked MJ why he always kept kids by him, his quote was "They tell me the truth!"......lol go figure

Look chap balance the facts you say found innocent in a court of law, yes to the last set but he did not let it get to a jury when he paid out the $18 mill, yes i agree that he was brilliant in the record business but please don't act as though people should stick there head in the sand regarding other matters.

Michael Jackson, The King of Pop will live forever as we play his music or remember him.
Michael Jackson the man, passed away yesterday at 1:40pm (GMT-8). Facts: Controversial, yes. Not guilty at court of men law. The interpretations of this facts not make a true.
Many of us want to have the final true, the mighty true, and forget that there isn't a REAL or plain true... I have my INTERPRETATIONS of a fact about something, but never the true. I can't be inside Michel Jacksons head and feel and think what he do at a time, also can't on who accused him. But my interpretation of all facts tell me that Michael Jackson acts, were more like a 12 year old boy, having an attraction park at his home, all types of toys and games... and when you are a 12 year boy want to play with friends and share your joy with other boys and be the coolest guy around. For me it's more like a black mind on the parents who suit him and what was in their minds than what really ever happen.
Maybe one day will finally get the other side version, for me Michael Jackson tells his not guilty and fight for it. But is always better for any public person to don't go to court, than fight for years.
Did you ever been in a car accident??? If you hit or been hit by other, doesn't matter... you are going to waist your time with insurance companies and mechanics or body shops... you are going to be without your car for several days even if it isn't your fault... so if you could need to pay to don't pass this thing, would you do it? (finally insurance companies are this last, we prefer to pay something to avoid waisting time in court and taking care of other persons vehicle and healing).
"it's better a bad arrangement, than a good court fight"
As true don't exist and only my believes and interpretation, why I will waste my time on judging or supposing in a dead man? What I want to see? If I can choose (and I can) I choose to respect his dead, finally don't forget he was son of a mother and father and brother and friend ... this people have my respect too, It is awful to nail someone with things that COURT already have done.
Rest in peace Michael Jackson.

I didn't make a big deal tonight at my venue, no tributes, just entertained folk as per normal in a UK Pub until I decided to play Ben, the whole venue silenced to the point there were folk holding back tears, what ever their thoughts, that says it all for me.
The irony was that on Thursday my cat brought in a full grown rat into my apartment, telling this story after the song, broke the solemn atmosphere allowing that moment of reflection to be just that.

MJ was a legend, he influenced so many artist and people over 3 decades, specially so 80's and 90's
Although some may portrait him as "freak" in his last few years, so was Elvis.
MJ is a legend, and is prefectly ok to pay respect. And he will live on as a legend and icon....

I still remember when I was just a kid, bringing my vinyl of Off the Wall to my drum instructor and playing "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" during a lesson in order to learn the nuances of the song and ask my instructor for guidance to play it perfectly.
I will remember Michael Jackson, both as the artist that gave me a beat to pound to and memorable songs that related to my own situation, as well as the controversial, alleged pedophilic black man who mysteriously became white...It is what it is - or - was.
It's a bit ironic, however, that Farrah Faucet's death took somewhat of a back seat to his. Don't hate, it's just my $0.02.
RIP MJ

Anyone who is a real parent would know that if your child really got abused you would not settle for any amount of money in the world you would do everything in your power to make sure that person goes to jail, or worse.

My last comment on the subject, turn your quote around.
"Anyone who is a really innocent would know that if you did not abuse a child you would not settle out of court for any amount of money in the world, you would do everything in your power to make sure that you were proved the innocent person and did not end up in jail, or worse."

Have you ever been to court? I have done jury duty on a case where the child was lying. When we handed out the not guilty to the guy he just collapsed, he was an emotional wreck.
Alot of cases are settled because in court things are made public that are none of our business or even dont have anything to do with the case! Not to mention the amount of time it all takes.

Look mate you talk nonsense if it was joe the plumber he would go to court to clear his name.
1. Because any self respecting person would want his name cleared for him and his family.
2. He would not have the odd $18 mill lying a round to settle.
3 Have you ever read about the Jordan case, i dought it. When it was found that the evidence that was going to be provided i.e certain markings that only an un clothed person would be showing etc the claim was settled. Fact.
And ref going to court i find that question to be an invasion of my privacy, but i would let you settle out of court if the money was right ;-o

Each to their own opinion. If folk want to believe all they read instead of actual facts and evidence then so be it, that's for the gossip mongers . If it bothers you that much why bother writing on here. Most folk are contributing their thoughts of a man who changed music, positive thoughts. You just want to keep harking on about some ones past which had been dealt with for god sake the man is now dead.
Might be a good idea for someone to have the last final tribute and close the thread
