Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

Mark is right, I can't link to their site, but it's easy enough to find, just Google it.

As for using your RMX for music video and karaoke, why wouldn't it work? Remember your controller is just that, a controller. VDJ does the work of playing your videos and karaoke as long as your computer can hang. from the specs you posted regarding your laptop, you have more than enough to run music videos and karaoke with no problem. The RMX is a great controller. You can use the same steps from my YouTube videos for your controller as you can with mine.

Thanks for the props on my YouTube videos and the comments too, not many people from here seem to care enough to help out, thank you again for your positive input!

Hey Rude,

I just view all the videos. Good work! :-)

My comment about those are the endings. I think it is better to stay in 15 secs for the end and not 1 minute or more. Find your vids very helpful on karaoke rip.

Good Work ;-)

DJ RUDE... Just checked out one of your vids and really appreciate the walk through!! I have been a KJ / DJ for a few years now and just upgraded my rig in a big way... And ordered VDJ to run everything and alllow me to destroy my old CD's!! ;) I'm just waiting on my new laptop to arrive and will be loading my new VDJ software... I really hope you continue this forum because I am a complete newbie to this software and will be looking to get as many tutorials as possible!! Thanks for the support!

Youre not supposed to destroy or sell the CDs that youve stored on your harddive.
If you sell any CDs youve stored, youre supposed to delete the files.

In the UK, the PRS periodicaly come round and do 'music surveys'. If you cannot prove that you legitamatly own the cd youre playing, the landlord (and you) could be taken to court over copywrite.

(sorry if that sounds a bit heavy, but ive seen other DJs in my town fall into this trap)

My advise is to get yourself a load of boxes from www.reallyusefullbox.com and store your collection in them.

Thanks AJ, I appreciate the nice comment on my tutorials, I was beginning to think they were of no help to anyone here, then all of a sudden people started making comments here! Kool!

Do me a favor, for those of you who like the work, I need you to please comment on my YouTube channel, on the actual video you watched or I don't get credit for it. Just having a view count doesn't help me.

Anyway, Mark is right, don't destroy your CD collection, just store them on a nice shelf system or CD display case like I did. They may come in handy as back up if something should happen to your drive, even if you have a back-up drive it's always a good idea to hang on to the discs. Like Mark said, someday you may have to prove you own the rights to the content of your drive. Over here in the U.S. they really don't go after KJs but they do go after DJs to make sure they are not stealing music off the net.

If you have a suggestion for a video that you want to see, make a suggestion on my channel and I'll do it if I can. Right now I'm doing one on a do-it-yourself DJ facade made with PVC and crushed velvet. I fabricated it from scratch before the very digital eyes of my camera!

Thanks for the support guys and go to my channel on comment on the vids you like and SUBSCRIBE!

Thanks a bunch!!

That's a silly rule, it's not like they're a competitor right? I've seen other links here to warez sites in the past.

Hey, Dogg, thanks for the help, I found the Cakewalk site and ordered it. I have literally thousands of CD and CDg's cuz I used to do karaoke with a CDG player, I guess those were the old days huh? I'm going digital now. So my comp is strong enough and my Herc will do the trick so all I need now is an LCD, I'm not using that old CRT anymore if I'm going digital, I like your setup! i also need VDJ pro

I want to go pro with VDJ but I'm a little scared about 6.0. Right now i have 5.2 le and I'm very happy with it. Can I still get 5.2? I can't register the damn thing cuz i bought my RMX used, it was like new in the box and I got if for $100 less than new but now I see I will lose 50 dollars if I go pro with VDJ!? that really blows big time! Any ideas?

Write to e-service to check your options, maybe you can still have your 50% discount available. ACW - VirtualDJ Team

No, I don't have any other thoughts on how you can get around that dilemma, wow, that's too bad. Sometimes it's better to buy new than used. If it were to have a defect you won't have a warranty and obviously you have found out that you could have saved $150 on VDJ Pro if you had bought a new RMX with and unregistered copy of VDJ LE. I don't want to be the one to rub it in your face but....

As for the question about VDJ 6.0.1 and the availability of 5.2.1... The short answer is no, you can't get the old version anymore. I wouldn't listen to everything thing you hear or read. I'm using 6.0.1 without problems and a hell of a lot of others are too. Like I mentioned in another thread, people come here to try to resolve an issue they are having, that's what the forum is mainly for, aside from camaraderie. There are countless thousands who use the software and don't use the forum so you don't hear the "success" stories as much as the "horror" stories... There are many who do use the forums and don't have a problem, just look around the whole site. Don't let the threads with VDJ 6.0.1 issues scare you. They are having issues that most of us aren't having. I would guess that at least 85% or more of the problems are user error of some type or they have something configured erroneously. Sometimes it's the files they are using or their equipment is inferior. If it turns out to be a problem with the program the team is constantly working to resolve those issue for a future release or update, just like any other software.

I say jump on it and see for yourself. You already have three of the most important things going well for you, your computer, I read the specs, it's more than perfect for VDJ 6.0.1. Your RMX controller is excellent and widely used. The other great thing is the support of the Teamers and hundreds of DJs who use the software everyday who are willing to help should you have an issue.

What more reassurance do you need?!

BTW: Why is your name "Agnostic DJ"? You don't believe in God? I'm an Agnostic but it just means that I don't presume to know what there is because there is no empirical evidence or science based fact.

The reason I ask you this is because the "A" in your a avatar is from the "Atheist Alliance" so it doesn't stand for the "A" in Agnostic. Agnostics and Atheists are not the same unless maybe you're leaning more toward Atheism. In my opinion Atheists are just as bad as religious or spiritual people IMHO.

It's not a silly rule at all. Why would we allow links to download illegal software?

Warez links are not allowed, and the moderators/teamers will remove all that they come across or are notified of.

DJ Rudd Dog here is some feedback:

Excellent start. Here are a few suggestions to help with your future instructional videos.

The background used during text messages needs to dim down so you can read the words better. Also increase font size & bold up the text with a better color for more contrast to make it more readable. Pick one with better contrast to the background. You have blacks and reds in your backgrounds, use a lime green or yellow perhaps as your text color.

Your voice is clear and very understandable. Seriously you could get a job with any training company as an instructor. Your enunciation is excellent.

Intro music is jamming but needs to terminate better into your vocals. Use a fade or maybe an outro sound effect like a spin down. Also maybe reduce volume a few dB to make it merge better with your narrative.

Extro music is nice, but gets a little long. Also a good fade or sound effect would be nice here too.

There is some kind of ghosting which makes it hard to see some of the things you display. It doesn’t show up all the time. Parts 1,2,3 have a lot of that. Part 4 I don’t see it. It’s some kind of phasing issue. Cameras seem to pick this up. It’s a 60hz thing.

The camera gets a little wobbly at times. Maybe use a tripod and a remote control if you have one. That way when you change scenes you won't see the camera shake when pressing buttons.

If you are looking to get into instructional videos I would suggest studying instruction from professionals that services huge companies like Verizon, Cisco, McDonalds…etc. There are good companies that put out Computer Based Training CBT instructionals. I used to go out of town to get trained at my telecommunications job. Now we use the CBTs. Some are crap and others are superb.

I just bought a copy of Sony Vegas and am learning right now. I can appreciate the time you put in to this project.

I’ve been wondering about those Zip files. Thanks for the education.

You’re off to a great start. Keep learning.

Regards,

Jim

Hi SBDJ, no, I think you are misunderstanding. Cakewalk Pyro Audio is not an illegal software sharing site. Cakewalk is a software company owned by Roland. Haven't you heard of Cakewalk Sonar? It's similar to ProTools. Pyro Audio Creator is a CD ripping software and editor. Here is the link...

I'm sorry if you guys misunderstood. I would never recommend anything illegal to anyone, especially here on the forums. Agnostic knew this too, he bought the software already.

Wow, thank you Jimmy!

I'm new to the YouTube thing but as a DJ and various public speaking occasions in my lifetime plus having a degree in Psychology helps too. I have been able to hone my voice though there are a few idiosyncratic nuances I'd like to get rid of.

I'm using a crappy video program, Windows Movie Maker, which is not helping much. I have Corel Video Studio X2 but last time I edited a video with that the window came out so small and I couldn't figure out how to make them regular sized, see my Chauvet Scorpion Storm vids and you'll know what I mean.

I need to get an HD video camera with a HDD, right now I'm using a Nikon CoolPix 10MP camera in video mode, lol.

Can you recommend a video editing software? Someone told me about Pinnacle. How about a live computer screen shot video software. So I can do live video screen shots of what I'm doing on the computer screen.

Another question, How do you do picture in picture videos? You know, where in a small window you see me and in the bigger window you see what I'm doing or a live computer screen shot of what I'm doing on screen. And how do you sync it? Or is it recording at the same time?

Sorry for the barrage of questions.

I have thought about doing demonstration/instructional videos or TV and radio for a living in the past but I own a busy company now, so unless I can do them from home, know what I mean? I did a college radio stint back in the 80's. Anyway, let me know on that.

Thanks for the great input. I need that. I will get better at producing the videos once I have an ideal way to do it.

If you don't mind can you put a small comment on my channel, which ever video you liked. That will really help me with the sponsorship deal.

Thanks!!

Hey Rude Dog,

I'm about 10 steps behind you. I've been doing some photo shows for customers and I got so pissed off at Movie Maker 2 that I bought Sony Vegas. It's pretty powerful. I haven't figured out how to edit video with it yet. I don't think it will let you edit frame by frame.

I can use my TMPGenc XPress to do some frame editing, but it is limited. Tonight I used VDJ to do some editing. I was able to cut the ad out of the middle of this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=82AkiMXSZE8 by using cue marks and jumping over it while recording. It came out nice.

Yeah I'd like to know a good frame by frame editor program to buy. I'm waiting for my Atlantic City Expo pass from DJ Cyder where I'll be going to the seminar on video creation and editing. I hope they post the schedule soon so I can make sure I'm there. I'll be reporting to the Forum when I get back. Again thanks DJ Cyder and Atomix for the pass.

I haven't uploaded to YouTube yet, but I have a nice Michael Jackson Tribute I made that I'll post eventually. I'm waiting on Ray Rossi to come over and re-do the narration. He says Barry Gordy instead of Berry. I'll be getting it finished probably next week and post the results.

I'm off to zzzzzzz out. TTYS

DJ RuDe

lol. No, I'm not an Atheist! I do however subscribe to some of their ideals and I like the logo!I'm like you, I don't believe either way because I see no "empirical evidence" as you so eloquently put it. I use the word in my DJ moniker because back then I thought it sounded cool and because I guess I wanted people to say, "Huh?" Now I don't care, i'm not trying to make a statement anymore and the name just stuck, though I get questioned a lot and have lost possible gigs because of fanatic Christian pinkos who can't fathom that anyone believes anything different than what they believe. I've been told, "Are you serious? You don't believe in God? Oh, I can't have you perform at my function!" Which is fine by me, I could care less. I would rather not be around people who are so fooled and taken in by something that was created to control people which is religion and Gods. It was a delusion created for control. I agree however that Atheists are just as bad as religious people, how can anyone know what is really out there? Faith is a word the religious over use and is just a cop-out because they really don't have anything else they can possibly say.

Anyway, i'm done talking about this as I'm sure I'm not going to make many friends after typing this, oh well!

I'm looking into getting version 6, i will report my results and experience when i've used it for a while.

Thanx Dogg for all of your help!

Agnostic, you can use the "Quote" button off to the right instead of quoting the way you have been doing it.

Interesting point you have regarding people and their religions. I have too much of a scientific mind to be fooled by religion and it's intent of control...But you're right. We won't make many friends having this type of conversation here. Most people get offended easily when you start discounting their Gods...

If you want to have conversations like this meet me over here... RichardDawkins.net , I'm a member, this forum is a bit more appropriate for this type of colloquy...

http://richarddawkins.net/

He wrote a book entitled "The God Delusion". A very interesting read.

OK, 'nuf said about that here. Moving right along!

I read on the other thread that you bought the B-52s, cool!! I have recommended these to so many people who have actually took my advice and got them, yet another! Congrats.

Have you got it straightened out with Atomix on the upgrade yet?

Let me know how it all goes and I'll see you either here or on the RD site listed above.

Peace,

DJ RuDe

Hey Jimmy, I just picked up Pinnacle Studio Ultimate 12 and it seems to be the program to have. Google it and you'll see what I mean.
