Of course VDJ rocks. We already knew that! :-)
Hmmm a mistake must have been made...Serato isn't listed! You would think from the hype/talk they would be near the top.

although i dont use serato, i think enough people use it, to where it should be ranked
Posté Fri 03 Jul 09 @ 8:45 pm
It is strange that Serato isn;t there.

This poll was made based on Companies that sell just the software. (No complete package) This is why you dont see Serato, Serato Itch, M-Audio Torq, Native instruments Traktor, Numark Virtual vinyl.

i noticed cue is #8 ,why not a tie for 2nd place? there looks like a lot of check marks
are missing from the cue software that are checked on the vdj software. i know this
is'nt scientific studies, but i think cue should 've had the same check marks as vdj.
i have both programs and i don't see that much diffrence..... big ups to automix
for holding down 2 of the top ten.

We're all biased, surprizing list missing Rockit, DJ Decks, Dex and others...DJ Power????
The death of high end overpriced software in that case.
But what got my attention was the lower mark for input/output.
When you track the review specifics, its all praise.
I don't get it.
I expected a complaint about time code or format support.
We know who's boss dogg in dj softwareland.

Virtual DJ is fully compatible with iTunes libraries and playlists, as well as other audio file formats such as MP3, WAV, ID3 and others. Best of all, Virtual DJ features Automatic Hot-Swap for external hard drives, providing for easy use of files not located on the immediate hard drive. Virtual DJ can also function as a line-in for MIDI devices and external controllers.
Virtual DJ comes equipped with ready-to-burn file recording, while also providing for the direct broadcast of DJ sets on the internet.

you can have all the polls and ratings you want, but the BEST software is what has the features and works the best FOR YOU!
VDJ is my choice by a long shot!

I really dont get this website or poll.
It seems to be a big affiliate program.

It isn't a full comparative. As a DJ I think is very important to know how upgrades cost. VirtualDJ was 5.2, I want to know if it was 5.2.0 or 5.2.1, but true comparative must be done with 6.0.1.
Also There are things missing... The full ability to manage all kind of MIDI devices with the program, VirtualDJ pro also could be use be ANY soundcard with no TCVs use and many others to be use when you use Timecodes. Not has to be an "special" one.
Could use Timecodes of other vendors, not only from VirtualDJ. Serato timecodes for example.
Also what about skins?, VirtualDJ could be customize as you want, and look as you choose, there are many skins that fit many tastes and needs. If there isn't the one you want, you can make your own.
And the way you can now combine keys and functions to make your own customized functions in a press of a button, using either a keyboard or a midi device. And at this point the ability to could use many MIDI connected to you computer. You can use a DMX box, A Korg mini nano pad, a Denon HC4500, Hercules DJConsole (any), and timecodes all at the same time. (You may require a speedy PC, but could be done).
So for me, the free upgrade option, the skins, samples, effects and tools around VirtualDJ and this cool forum it's far from other softwares. Did anyone mention the forum support in many languages??? That could be miss, but true is not all djs around the world speak english. English, French, Spanish, Italian, German and Greek now are supported languages at support. And almost all in forums.
If VirtualDJ Pro is by this comparative 2nd, CUE full has to be 3th all the way, because if not What are we missing? if they don't compare the free upgrades?
And that's only what I catch on the surface...

@ACW Well Put!!! VDJ jams!!!
Posté Sun 05 Jul 09 @ 6:48 pm
Well I'm 100% convince about VirtualDJ. Another thing missing is the ability to play video and karaoke... I doubt Traktor could run as much audio, video and karaoke files as VirtualDJ do.

I'm curious about something...why is it that PCDJ is promoted so heaving by Mobile Beat magazine and Promo Only? I see few articles and ads by Virtual DJ...
