Sujet: virtual folders vs playlist? - Page: 2

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

What I do joey is recurse the main folder that would contain ALL the songs in their sub folders, then sort by BPM, and go to the bottom of that sort list, do that every time after you open VDJ, you (may) see some BPM info missing. And look at and count ALL your virtual folders as well to make sure they are all there.

I think if more people do this we may see a larger group agreeing that song info is missing once in a while.

Good info will report back

Thank You

Hopefully we can recruit others to join in on this and maybe gather enogh info on these database mysteries?

How can I share a Playlist with another VJ user? The playlist appears to just be a list of songs. Is there a way to save the mp3 file with the playlist so it can be transferred or moved to another VJ system?

Your answer has been given in the other thread you have posted. Please dont double post especially in a non relative thread.

yup, you can. copy, save, and copy again.

Ok, so I use Virtual Folders to create a setlist, then use the Comments section to create the order (labelling them alphabetically, like "a" then "aa", "aaa", or cycling through the alphabet etc..). I have an issue with songs disappearing out of the Virtual Folder that I created and out of the search and various views in Virtual DJ. I can see them easily with the disappearance of the track when I sort. I do not use external harddrives, and the files can be found both on my harddrive folder and through itunes. When I open a playlist in itunes for example, I can see all 11 tracks. When I open the playlist through Virtual DJ, I'll only see 10 tracks even after refreshing. I can even drag the tracks manually from their Windows folders into Virtual DJ and play them, but still won't show up in the Search or folders. I've tried Check-Clean-Fix on my C drive, changed to Search Manually, and no help. Renaming the files sometimes helps to make them searchable again in Virtual DJ, but not always. When you spend hours making a setlist, this couldn't be more frustrating.

Do I need to resort to doing screen captures of set lists and fixing them when they break? BTW, I'm using 6.0.5 Pro running on Windows7.

Hi jeffpellenz

That's a mystery of the third kind, I've had issues similar to what you describe, what I did was use a tag program MP3Tag, I then bring up that file for edit within the MP3Tag Program and add a period on the Title Or Genre and it would miraculously show up in VDJ.

What's really mysterious is if you delete the period the file disappears from VDJ.

Don't ask me how, maybe "Divine Intervention"???

Good Luck

Joey....

I'll give anything a try at this point. Much thanks for your help, will let you know how it works...

Ok, new development. I read some of the other threads and checked all items in the search window, top righthand corner as it only had Show Covers and Show Music checked (I checked Show Videos, Show Karaoke). After doing this, all the other files showed up. It appears that if I play a track and play a video file with it simultaneously (I was playing holiday videos in the background at an event with some tracks), it associates the track as a Video? Strange, but this seems to have fixed it.
