Hi Guys,
Now returning to the game I could use some of your expertise, advise etc to help me make decisions for my new setup. I was looking at the NS7 as it has recently become supported, however I cannot let down my feel for vinyl and have to be diehard old school so steered away from it.
I am planning on running the NI Audio 4 DJ Sound card, being the smaller brother of the Audio 8... In past experiance I found the Audio 8 to have been the best sound card I have ever been on. Preformed both flawlessly on VDJ and Traktor Scratch. However am open to suggestions of "better" sound cards which are around the same pricepoint if anyone has any suggestions.
I have always been a Technics fenatic, but many people are now running the Stanton decks. I am considering maybe trying them instead of the Technics this time, other than resale value is there anything people can say about the Stantons? Experiances, problems, etc? As for mixer I still have my Sound Craft Ueri 1601S.
I was running the Ortofon Concord Digitrack in previous setups, now I am considering going the same way if not for the Q-Berts. I am just curious what other people use/recommend... or whether it makes a difference at all what you use(obviously some have higher signals strength/different configurations)... I will only be playing timecode on them and scratching a whole lot.
When I was using VDJ there was only option of VDJ Gen-3 TCV.... Then Serato compatibility came out and I found Serato vinyl to work better. I am just wondering if there is any noticable benefit or preformance gains by running the Traktor Scratch vinyl opposed to the other versions. (I know it's relative only, but that's the mode which I use anyway).
Thanks,
DJ Kice

We all had technics when we were young and there still really good if you have a pair now but I wouldn't have them over the Stanton STR8 series, I have a pair and the so much better.
I bought them in a funny way I went to someones house to sell them something and they asked if i would take the stantons in px i laughed as i didn't really want old skool deck but when i saw they hadn't been used and had a go on them as saw the quality i just had to have them and i got them half price.

The Stanton decks are VG but check out some of the Vestax DD decks as I think they are closest to the Technics bomb proof build.
I used Stanton Carts for ages but was amazed by the sound quality of the Ortofons. I think the Stantons are more tolarent of abuse but the Ortofons give a better sound.
You can't go wrong with your sound card choice for timecode.
I have not found a huge difference between timecode vinyl but many people have preferences.
