Sujet: CPU Usage Vista vs XP

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

I have a question about my PC. I run VDJ on a double-boot system. The PC is HP Pavillion Dual-core 32-bit OS 4GB RAM with a Denon HC-4500. When I run the Vista setup my PC runs with less CPU-usage and the Safe mode and Overclocked is unticked. This is with a resizing cstoll modified skin. The same in XP-mode VDJ uses at least 30% CPU and I have to run it in overclocked mode. Can anyone tell me why? It's working but I'm just curious about why there is a difference. I've been thinking that the XP is not using the dual-core in a efficient way. I'm a right?

Is your dual core a amd by any chance.

If so go to amd webite and download the amd dual core optimizer.

I'm sorry I should have mentioned that it's an Intel Centrino Duo.

I see not much i can say about this one then.

I believe Vista uses a different driver for the Audio cards giving it a more direct connection to the software. also it could just be the vista driver is better.
