I was about to order the Native Instruments audio 4 dj, but read a few posts about it not having time code support, or problems I should say. I also read that the audio 8 is alot better...
I use VDJ and timecodes most of the time when my Presonus Firebox wanted to work correctly.
I sometimes had to go with just one output, and use the 2nd (distorted) output for cueing up my next track.
What should I go with?
The price was right for the Audio 4, but I don't want to regret the purchase.
I only use cdj's for timecode, and not vinyl anymore btw.
Thanks!

Hey mainedj,
the Audio4DJ is fine for timecodes.
2Inputs
2Outputs
What do you need more? ;-)
The most problems users have with soundcards is, they use a wrong setting.
I knew a lot user who own a Audio4DJ and they are more then happy with this soundcard.
I own my self a m-audio conective, Audio2DJ and a Audio8DJ
The m-audio conectiv and the Audio8DJ are great for timecode to, but they are larger then the Audio4DJ.
At the moment you can't use the hole range of the Audio8DJ, because the VDJ Supports only up to a 3Channel Mixer.
So in my eyes, it is at the moment better to use a 4DJ then a 8DJ
See you

With my Audio8 i can use 2 dj software at the same time.
CH1/CH2 for VDJ (main) while CH3/CH4 for the other software from NI (realtime backup).
Audio quality is way too good.

That's not a bad idea... I never thought of doing that. I just have 2 instances of VDJ going. One is main and one is backup but I never need the backup.

Thanks to you Dj City I bought my audio 4 dj today. My timecode setup just needs to have vdj professional to it legally now.

I get to try my Audio 4 out tonight at the club!
I'll post how it goes...I run VDJ and can't wait to get use of my timecodes again.

I just saw that the Audio 2 is on sale ($99) and thought I'd pick this up for my first soundcard. I'm a VDJ newbie. What limitations will I have with the Audio 2 vs. the Audio 4?
I will be running:
MacBook Pro
Virtual DJ
(maybe) Traktor
(2) DN-3700's
DJM-500 mixer
Thanks!

I have an Audio4DJ, and now I want an Audio8Dj. I want it for the sole reason of being able to have 3rd output to send the sampler to. With the 4, I can only have the 2 decks playing on the 2 channels, and the sampler plays over the top of both channels. I want to be able to send the sampler to its own independent channel to have hardware control over the gain. But as far as sound, I LOVE my Audio4DJ.

I have a Macbook Pro with MAC OSX 10.6.3 running. 2.26 GHZ intel core 2 duo processor, 2GB of ram. I cannot get my Audio4DJ to work properly with my setup.
Audio4DJ box
2 CDJ's with VDJ Time codes.
Allen & Heath Xone 62 Mixer
Any thoughts or suggestions. My AUDIO4 box shows there is an input going into it. nothing goes to the mixer and i cannot control my songs with the time codes. any thoughts??
Thanks in advance.

If you have NI Audio 4 and you use the time codes CDs can you still play regular Cds on your CD player with out disconnecting the NI audio from the cd players? Let's just say that on the middle of the night the club wants to do a dance show, and they have the music on a regular cd, would I have to disconnect the NI soundcard from the cd players? thanks.

The Audio 2 only has two (hence the name) outputs, whereas the Audio 4 has two outputs and two inputs, which means you can both send out the music, and control the program via timecodes.
