Sujet: ZIPs... No solution?

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

Hello friends,

I've been reading solutions for Zip files (karaoke CD+G) and no one is working... I've seen Video tutorials (Thanks Dj Rude)... I've used WinRar, 7Zip, WinZip, CD+G Toolz... nothing's working...

I don't want to unzip all files because I can play a Karaoke Mp3 instead a Music Mp3...

Can I wait a fix on next version? Should I use VDJ 5 again and forget about all new versions?

Why do not download in your Download Center the Version 5.2.1 Pro or Version 6.0.2. Pro. With this the Karaoke CD+G will works.

Mike

I'm using Pro version.

ZIP files are readen as mp3 only. Text file is not working. If I unzip the files all works perfect but I don't want to unzip my files...

You need to make sure that all files are the same file name.

SONG A.zip
SONG A.mp3
SONG A.CDG

Should work fine, or at least it seems to for me.

Personally, I've been able to call the zip file anything I want, and it still works as long as the mp3 and cdg file have the same name as each other, for example:

Artist - Title.zip
Track01.mp3
Track01.CDG

You are indeed correct. I have all three the same, but have just tried your theory and it still works fine.

Well... I've use a well formed zip file:

Name.zip->
Name.mp3
Name.CDG

And I try:

Name.zip->
Name.mp3
Name.cdg

And...

Name.zip->
Name.MP3
Name.CDG

And nothing is working. VirtualDj mark this file as Karikaze (green) but load as a mp3... No video...

Can anybody send me a valid zip file WORKING (Copyright free, No piracy...)?

Is VDJ team working on it or I must unzip all karaoke files...?

No Pain, No Gain?
Up To You....

Joey...

It probably has something to do with the compression method. Some of my karaoke files wouldn't play. After unzipping the played normally. Even after repacking into a new zip file they were playing ok. So a solution is to unzip your files and rezip them again. You could automate this process using a scripting language as pyton, power shell or create a little progra for it.

I'm just receiving my first set of karaoke disc's (new to me anyway)
I'm ripping them to a seperate harddrive from my music videos/audio music.

Question - Why all the hubbub about zips?

I use audio grabber and ripp the file to the harddrive, it plays in vdj just fine. Yes it makes 2 files, ***.MP3/ ***.G

But if on a dedicated harddrive, What does it matter? Space an issue? - I'm using a 1TB external harddrive, I don;t think I'll fill it up with karaoke for years

Just wondering why all the noise about zips, It never effected me one way or the other before because I never meant to offer karaoke, but times change.

You have to be doing it for years and using veriious software programs to be aware of this, But there is a solution.

Joey...

Compression method, in "MP3+G Toolz" anyway, is extremely important. The only one that works properly is "5 - default compression" (it's on the options menu under the "zip compression" hyperlink) for zips to play in VDJ.

Try unzipping one of the files that doesn't work. Then, using this compression setting, zip it back up in Toolz and see what happens.

Can anyone tell me why my zipped karaoke files take an eternity to load. I sped up W7 by shutting crap off. Much better now, but zipped files are still painful to wait for during my high flying karaoke show. Even though I hit LOAD well in advance, clients are still waiting while standing there for several seconds. This has ground my fast paced show to a crawl. +++ PLEASE HELP+++

Thanks Joey, going now.
