hey all, I can't seem to find the "tutorial" on how to manage the music organization and folders for the 5.0 and above versions anywhere.

I would love to update my version BUT I really prefer the way 4.0 works in terms of the recordcase and the music list. Can anyone help this fool out in finding the tutorial or give me some insight as to hopw I can work with the new recordcase. Do you ahve to "recurse" everytime you want to see the local list of ALL of your songs?

My playback drive is organized with @ 40 folders broken down by genre BUT sometimes I want to see everything and just scroll through. With 5.0 and 6.0 do you have to "recurse" everytime you want to look into a specific folder or directory?

I see that the newer versions have a much improved BPM analyzer and would like to take advantage of that in addition to the ID3 tagging and search.

You'd think i would be better ad adapting being digital for a long time but I am not, so thanks for your help.

You can make a filter folder to show all of your songs - Click the blue + folder icon at the top of the folders list, then enter the following:

Name: All Music
Flter: isscanned=0 or isscanned=1

And you can do much, much more with filter folders - Please see page 11 and 12 of http://www.virtualdj.com/images/pdf/VDJ5-UserGuide_for_Updates.pdf for some examples.
 
Ah thanks, that's the information I had been looking for. I remembered when 5 came out there was much to do about the recordcase but couldn't remember what people ahve done to get familiar with it. Thanks for the link.
