Sujet: Karaoke Add to Search DB fails

When I scan the folder that has all my karaoke in, it starts off great and looks like it finishes without errors but in reality it doesn't get all the songs.

You would assume by the progress bar shown that everything was scanned but the truth is, it gets to a point and doesn't scan anymore.

Anyway to troubleshoot this? Not sure why kJams can import all my songs but Virtual DJ can't. Any ideas?

I see a lot of posts asking about this issue but no resolutions. Is this a known issue or is it no VDJ Mac Support guys see this issue in the forums.
 
I have been trying to figure this out on my own because I am not having luck finding help in the forums and from what I found so far....

Right Click on Volumes - MUSIC - karaoke

Left Click on Add to Search DB (search begins and goes through all 60,000 songs with no errors displayed)

Go to browser and enter type=karaoke (always the first 232 files) stopped at 5TH Dimension

Thinking it may be a corrupt file, I deleted the directory (after backing it up of course) to see if Add to Search DB would produce more then 232 files of my 60,000 (NOTE: if you tried to Add to Search DB before and failed, you have to close Virtual DJ and reopen it before searching again)

It still stops after 234 files so I don't think its an issue of corrupt files but a memory issue (like memory gets full and it stops but yet the Add to Search DB is still going).

Can anyone offer any help in troubleshooting this since I am all out of idea's?

A log file or something that I could reference for errors?

Having the same issue with my Macbook running Virtual DJ and karaoke... I think I am going to call customer support with this issue. I also run a windows machine, which they all show up in, but it only works for a couple months, then it starts telling me the files are corrupt and I have to manually search for all the songs throughout the entire karaoke show. It is actually a big sore-spot I have about using VDJ for karaoke... but I am assuming it will all be fixed soon. There has got to be a fix, and if there isn't VDJ needs to fix it on their dollar. Thanks.... update us if there is any changes VDJ?
 
I also have this problem, it works fine with a few songs then "crashes" however works fine on windows pc??

Any ideas peeps???

the support centre just says to unzip etc...but it only works for a small number of songs not 6000!!

HELP...

How can the mac play karaoke files with VDJ? any ideas???
 
Why unzip? vdj plays zip karaoke files just fine if I drag folders in one by one. But, 6000 files one by one?? My problems is like the cats before me. When I search for titles in the browser they don't exist! anyone, anyone, Bueller, Buelller!
