It is because information is sent from VirtualDJ and then interpreted by the controller. When in CD mode it is reading the motor position which is more constant. Its a minor visual imperfection from data being sent by the computer.

and this will be fixed in the future? thanks

Actually with a little more review of the CDJ 900/2000 documentation ... I think the issue is because we only send a 2 digit Millisecond value. I will look into if we can increase this to a 3 digit value.
The CDJ-900/2000 uses the actual time values to display the position sweep on in the platter display area ... so I will see what we can do to maybe correct this in a future version ... :)

Yes, we did not implement the .# value on the millisecond values. It is still on the list of things to do.

Are most DJ's getting 900's or is it better to save abit more and get the 2000?
Does the HID on the 2000 have full support with virtualDJ?

Any chance you could send over the midi mapping you have for the cdj 900? I am play at a gig where they have some set up and I want to use them to control vdj. I don't have a pair myself yet

It is a visual inconvenience - it does not take away nor affect the performance of the units.
Still on the list of things to do.

Hello VDJ Staff
Please help me out. I need a document listing settings on VDJ to work with two CDJ 900's.
Actually both channels end up on the same mixer channel instead of two
Thanks
Setup
CDJ-900 x2
DJM-800 x1
VDJ 7.1.0
Windows 7 64-bit

yer the wave form is a little jerky (not pioneer smooth) a serato jock i play against said thats vdj, its Sh**, my response was does it sound any different? can i do loops from the deck?
it doesnt make a difference other then being slightly stuttery visually but the crowd doesnt see that! all they care about is the music they here and enjoying themself!

Problem is:
VDJ and Serato (and ANY program of this nature) is a virtual VISUAL music progam.
Yes it may sound the same, but for sound, you don't REALLY NEED A PROGRAM, now do you?
If he's playing actual CD's on CD decks, and he wouldn't need visual components, he wouldn't need VDJ, now would he?
So it's obvious, that they have become a bit dependent on the visual aspects of this program, so this actually means that in this department, SErato actually wins the point.
It's almost like you're comparing a flip phone to an iPhone, and you say that "they both make calls, don't they?" Hell, at that point, I could use a pay phone.....

i didnt mean to cause offence by my comment. to me the cdj-900 is just a controller. i push the buttons and sound comes out. as was said in the previous devs comments it is being looked at. so untill then stutter vision it is ;) (and the jock is a serato vynil guy.) also i use VDJ mainly to save my back . be slightly more creative and make my life slightly easier when i have a "What to play next" moment
